Question about ViewSonic VA1912wb Monitor
My Screen Display on the VA1912wb Viewsonic is having issues to start-up. When I leave work and come back the next day I have to spend around 10-15 minutes pressing the power button on and off until the screen display fully stays on. I was wondering if it could be a possible setting that might fix this or a power supply issue. Thanks for your response.
The most common cause of this is a failure of the filter capacitors on the power supply board. If you can do a little soldering then the repair is easy to do. You will need to replace the bad capacitors and then the unit should be as good as new again. Here is a link to additional information on which capacitors you will need to replace.
I hope this helps you out,

hi if your sure that all the power settings of the screen and the comp are fine then it points to 1 reason: the screen is heating up and the automatic circuit shuts it down... try locating it some cooler place or put a vent behind it... see if it does any help if soo set it in a cool place good luck

I had to replace a fuse(F1) on the inverterboard of my VX900 to get it back to life as fuzzytek sugested.
It was replaced by a normal "flat" fuse (for cars). Had no clue about the value, so I tried with 0,5A first. It blew right away. Next value I had was 2A, and it worked! (It might be too small, and it might be too big, but I think it is better to usa a "large" fuse rather than no fuse at all. :)
Some pictures from my installation:

Really if this happens then you may want to contact viewsonic to see if it still in warrant. Reminder that most of their monitors have a 3 year warrany from the date of purchase. So make sure that you have your proof of sales/receipt/POP/invoice or what ever you want to call it ready. This model is old so they will ask for it if its a first time repair.

You have a very common problem that happens to many LCD monitors after 2-3 years of use. Your monitor has blown the power supply that controls the backlight bulbs. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and look at the pictures of what blown capacitors look like. Open the back of your monitor and replace any of the parts that look like the ones in the pictures and you should be back going again. Be sure to usehigh temp (105c) replacements. Resolder them in with the side polarity stripe going the same direction and the old one came out. The values of the bad parts will be marked on the sides of the ones you take out, they can be ordered online from us or several other places, the one from Radio Shack are not suitable for use in the high heat inside on the monitor and will soon blow again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
If you have more questions just ask.

It is the picture picture board on your monitor that is malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, but the display screen goes blank after a few seconds, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.
The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.
