Question about Baby Gear
All simplicity cribs are on recall. Walmart has been kind enough to offer refunds or credits in most cases. You have an uphill battle since these cribs are older now. If the crib has a dropside ( a side that goes up and down) it is now considered unsafe and is ILLEGAL TO SELL. Sorry for the bad news but try Walmart. They may work with you on it.

First, I would be very cautious. Several of these cribs were recalled. You can check the Consumer Products Safety Commission to see if your crib was involved.
Secondly, this company went out of business and I was unable to contact anyone about ordering parts or manuals. Unfortunately the new company that bought them, isn't taking responsiblity for any Products from the original Manufacturer.
Note, the website phone number and email are non working.
However, they do have a few instructional videos on their website, you can find them here.

The company is out of business. Although your's in NOT one of the recalled items, you will not be able to contact them or buy parts.
Have you tried other hardware stores aside from Home Depot? You could also try an automotive store...sometimes they have those odd sizes.
Please read the following:
About 1 Million Simplicity Cribs Recalled Due To Failures Resulting in Infant Deaths.
Note: The firm appears to no longer conduct day-to-day operations. Repair kits are no longer available to fix these recalled cribs. Parents and caregivers are advised to dispose of these cribs, even if it is believed that the hardware and drop side have been installed correctly. All of the recalled cribs have the potential to pose a danger to young children.
The recalled cribs have one of the following model numbers, which can be found on the envelope attached to the mattress support and on the label attached to the headboard: 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910, 8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996.
