SOURCE: Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

SOURCE: need instruction page for the Hunter light/fan remote control

There is a battery in the hand held remote and another battery in the receiver which gets tucked into the ceiling mount cover. Remove the ceiling cover and you will see the battery there, usually a 12 volt battery.

The upp/down slide is a dimmer.

In the event that changing the batteries doesn't solve your problems, Hunter makes replacement remote sets, available at Home Depot, lowes, etc and usually around twenty dollars.

SOURCE: Hunter Fan has stopped accepting remote control signals

I'll guess and say that the fan quit working properly shortly after either a power surge in your house of after a light burnt out after turning them on. It has happened several times to the two Hunter fans we have here, both with the wireless remote control. After having both replaced under warranty, and then paying for a replacement, I finally took the receiver apart and found the root cause. There is a power regulator (looks like a power transistor) that uses the aluminum portion on the housing as a heat sink. The part is easy to replace for those of you who are handy with a soldering pencil. For those of you who are not, I'm sure you know of someone who is. Now for the good and bad news. The good news? The replacement part is about a dollar from an electronics supply house called Mouser. I tried Radio Shack, but they have really cut back on electronic components. The bad news? I can't remember the part number. I have a spare one, but I can't find it right now. I will look for it and if need be, I'll open up the receiver and get the number off of it and post back to this thread. After replacing the part in both a little over six months ago, we have had no problems with the receivers. Voltage spikes no longer take out the regulator.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote 85095-01 stopped working

it also could be one of the the jumpers fell out of the remote
they are located just above the battery. you will need to match the placement of the jumpers with the receiver mounted in the fan.

SOURCE: Light remote control stopped working

most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.

good luck.

That is the code that works with your wireless remote controller. The switches should be set the same in the remote in order for the wireless remote to work.

Have you contacted Hunter? Have you turned off the wireless internet to see if fans work? You may have to try another internet brand or try moving to another part of the house.
