I am writing to ask if someone can help me troubleshoot my MP3 player.

    Recently,
it has not even been turning on. Or, it may turn on for a few seconds,
flash the screen, then shut off again. And lastly, it may even play
radio/music for a minute or so and then it will shut off itself.

I have had this device since December 2007 and have never had any trouble with it, until now.

I tried to solve the issue on my own by taking the following steps but still was unable to solve the issue:
    -I
charged the player for several hours-- Even after unplugging the
player, it immediately shuts down, whereas it used to remain on until I
    shut it off

-Reset the player, via the instructions written in the player's manual and the instructions on the sansa Web site.
    -Update the player's firmware
-Tried turning it to MPC mode

To reset your Clip, try holding the power slider switch in the "On" position for 15-30 seconds. Release the power switch once the unit begins to power down.

SANSA CLIP PROBLEM

If the Sansa
®
Clip player freezes up, slide the Power Button up and hold it for
approximately 15 seconds. This is like a power down of the device. Once you
perform the reset, the adjustments you made during the last operation will be gone

My scandisk sansa clip mp3 player is fozen at the refresh database screen

I actually called the 800 sandisk number and the guy was helpful (after some annoying personal questions).
Unplug from your computer
Turn off the device.
Push the button down to be in the "Hold" position
Press down on the "center" button (inside the circle)
While still pressing on the center, plug in the device.
Now you should be able to see the device under "My Computer"
Right click on it and FORMAT --YOU WILL LOSE ANYTHING THAT WAS ON IT! But you will be able to use it again. I was assuming all my stuff was gone, it was just copies from my computer anyway.

This worked for me and now I just have put my music back on it.

Hope this helps everyone else! And don't hook it up to a MAC!! Even just to charge it!

It froze

Sansa Clip Player has some problem. I tried 4 sansa clip players (I purchased at Best Buy for Thanksgiving), and none of them work. Dont even try to exchange them, just return them back.
