I tried changing the booting order in BIOS still not working. I am getting an error: a disk read error and press ctrl +Alt+Dlt to restart. What does that mean?

- I ried it and it did not work. I got the same message.
Either the boot area has been damaged by malware or the hard drive is failing.
Changing the boot order to start with the optical drive and using a recovery or installation disk should let you boot so you can run checks on the hard drive.
BTW, a set of 4 recovery disks I received from the system mfr. claim to each be bootable and they definitely are not; there is no reserved space for a boot sector on any of them.

- I suppose that your hard drive and the optical disk could both have bad sectors and produce the same error message but did you access the BIOS and change the boot drive to your optical drive?
And do you know that the optical disk you are trying to use for boot is clean and readable?
The error message should include a drive letter; c: for the hard drive and probably e: for the optical drive.
