Hi Roety, I will return the antenna I bought and try a stronger one, see if that helps. Regarding answer from SuperTech01, I do not think it is same issue. I am unable to get any channels, not just one. Would be nice to have PBS at very least :-(

Your tv has a built in tuner, just plug in to ANT on rear of set and select ANTENNA from your menu screen.

Olevia LT23HVX screen resolution

what kind of cable are you connecting with? If you are using a Composite or S-Video cable perhaps you may want to use the VGA cable instead and see if that corrects the issue.

I just purchased an indoor antenna for to view local stations. Can i use an indoor antenna for my olevia 232-t11 lcd-hdtv? If I can, what steps do I need to follow?

Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.

NO channels now, we had some before!!!!!

Here is how you should have it connected.
1- Antenna (rabbit ears or whatever)
2- Converter box
3- Television

When you turn on the TV and the converter box, go to channel 3 on the TV. You should see the converter box signal there. If you do not see it try channel 4. Bring up the convert box menu and go through the AUTO SEARCH, not manual search. Now your box will search all the frequencies and add any stations that are in your area. Make sure you change channels with the converter box, not the tv. An antenna on the roof will still provide somewhat better range, but even rabbit ears will likely pick up something. If you still get no channels you could be too far away, digital signals have a shorter range than analog signals. You can check your local TV stations website or call to see if they are broadcasting digital yet.

Basic broadcast channel plan vs. indoor digital antenna

HD tv is picky about the signal. You either get a signal or you don't get a signal (no static or snow). It really depends on your location as to where you live. There are ways that you can find out how close you are to a transmitter by checking on Wikipedia for each channel in your market. It will give you precise position as to where it is. It will also tell you if they will broadcast in 1080i or 720i. Check the antenna specs to see what the range is on the rca.com website.
