Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer does not Communicate (connect) following Microsoft SP3

Dec 18th - installed service pack 3 for security update for HP computer
I have a Dell 962 all in one printer
Now get an error - does not communicate
I reinstalled the driver,
Check the cords
unconnected and reconnedted USB cable
The error report gives little information -
I have been having a communication error problem since I disconnected and reconnected my computer when I rearranged my furniture. I think it might be because it showed up on my screen as an intruder per my security system and I agreed to block it because I was unaware of the address it had. Now I don't know how top get reconnected. I've tried to reinstall it with a lot of problems after trying all the suggestions of disconnecting plugs, cables, etc.

Try this, uninstall the printer drivers and shut down the system.
Disconnect the USB cable and restart the computer.
Once in windows reconnect the USB cable and let windows find the printer and install it.
If it asks for the CD insert it and follow the onscreen prompts.

How do i set up bluetooth connectivity

Hi,

If you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 installed on the computer, then the computer has the Microsoft Bluetooth Protocol Stack. The Microsoft stack allows you to install an external Bluetooth adapter automatically. If the Bluetooth adapter supports the Microsoft stack but it does not install automatically, then you do not have the Microsoft stack on the computer.

>>Make sure that you have installed the HP All-in-One software on the computer.

>>Attach an HP Bluetooth adapter to the front USB port of the HP All-in-One.

>>If you are using an external Bluetooth adapter for the computer, make sure the computer is on and then attach the Bluetooth adapter to a USB port on the computer. If you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 installed, the Bluetooth drivers are installed automatically. If you are prompted to select a Bluetooth profile, select HCRP.

>>
On the Windows taskbar, click Start , and then click Printers and Faxes .

>>Double-click the Add Printer icon.

>>Click Next , and then select A Bluetooth Printer .

>>Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the installation.

>>Print as you would to any printer.

Regards
Riztech.

Hp 3055 and sp3

There are 2 ways you can remove it. The easiest is to go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Make sure Restore my computer to an earlier time radio button is selected and click Next. Bold calendar dates indicate available restore points. Choose the date that you installed SP3 and time if it has more than one, click Next and it will restore it to the way things were prior to the update.
Alternatively, Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and scroll down to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and highlight it then click Remove on the right. I prefer System Restore but that's me.

Printer does not Communicate (connect) following Microsoft SP3

I had this same problem...drove me crazy for a week. Called the geek squad at Best Buy and they mentioned something about a"patch" (which I had no idea what that meant) on the website of the printer. I went to Lexmark website, and selected 1200 series and windows vista (which is what's installed on my computer) A page came up to install a driver that made the two compatible and it worked!!!

Hp installs but computer wont recognize the printer

Hi!

Welcome to Fixya,

I hope you elaborate more, what you did in installing the printer, so I can advice directly in your problem,

but any, I have some guidelines in troubleshooting a printer and hoping that this can help you in determining the problem.

  • if is connected to USB see if Operating System problem,
  1. if your using XP or Vista and your system cannot recognize it, then OS is not Updated or Modified, I encounter some of XP and Vista OS.
  2. what your going to do is activated your auto update, in the internet, so the Microsoft will automatic update your system. after a multiple updates, your system can now recognize any new drivers.in doing this: in your control panel, double click security center, ON the automatic updates or you can use the link below fo direct download:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.aspx

and SP3 updates:

Need help downloading and installing driver for hp photosmart C3100 printer said required section usbstor.inf not found xpsp3

Search your computer for the USB inf file usbstor.inf. Is this the first USB device you have ever used? What is the operating system on your computer? It appears as though it is searching for the Microsoft Service Pack 3 for XP, and can't find the file within the service pack, or the service pack. Have you recently installed MS updates?

I have an HP computer with Windows XP. I bought a Lexmark printer X2600m and when I tried to print, it said USB port is not compatible.

Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed on your PC. For XP, Microsoft released the Service Pack 3 (SP3) that corrects many bugs. You can download the SP3 and the install it, and see if it helps. Go on Microsoft website to find it.
