This is a common problem with plasma tvs You did not mention whether you could generate any sound like through your dvd player or something like that. Whether you have audio or not makes a difference on which board may be causing you the problem. Just because it does not have a picture for tv viewing does not mean it won't produce some type of sound through your av1 input. Try it and I'll try to be more specific.

Since you have already tried a different source of signal, you can be sure that the TV's at fault.
The type of problem you're having is mostly caused by a failing or failed power supply. This may well be mounted on a separate board inside the housing. After removing all the cables attached including the AC cord, remove the rear housing and see if you can identify the power supply; this is not normally too hard, follow the AC input and the supply should be the first board to which it is connected.
If it has an identifiable part number on the board, you can call LG to see if they have an exchange or replacement price that makes sense to you. Boards will often have multiple part numbers; if you see one that clearly could be on a bare board, that may not be the right one. Look for one on a sticker or obviously printed but not as a part of the etching process. There is often also 'revision' numbers along with the basic part number. Both of those should be used to get the correct version for your set.

SOURCE: dynex 32" tv picture goes black
If there is still about ? 24. Volts coming from the Power Board when it goes dark, it will be the Inverter board that needs replacing. If not, it is the Power Board that needs replacing. The Voltages should be written next to the sockets & plugs on the Power Board.
