SOURCE: very slow water output
Open door of machine & take Brew head out. You will see a cylinder shaped part which is black with an orange washer half-way down it. Look underneath this cylinder and you will see a steel disk,(which may look black) this is the filtre. Now look above the cylinder and you will see a turn knob, turn anti-clockwise untill the disk comes free. Hold the disk up to the light and you will see the minute perferations which are all clogged with coffee grounds, give this a thorough washing under running hot water ,( use the brush provided with your machine to push the grounds through. You will also need to blow through these holes very hard and often untill you can see that they are cleared. This should be done after about every 15 cups made. I got this info. from the Gaggia engineer and it works!! Good luck.

Take the brew unit out again, and try to twist the rotational mechanism so that the little arrows in the front of the axis align. This should allow you to insert the unit.
On insertion, you might also need to push the little handle on the front of the brew unit to allow the coffee trough to fit.

HI Sorry, but you have 6 years of scale that has been broke loose and is now plugging your lines. You are going to have to take you machine apart and blow out all your lines and also the boilers with air pressure to clear the lines. Descaling is one of the most important things you can do for your machine. Your lucky that your machine went 6 years. Most don't.

It should take about 45 minutes to an hour to properly descale the machine. If it only took a couple of minutes you really didn't descale your machine. If you used the powder it has to disolve completly before descaling. The best way to descale is with the descaler in the tank. Turn on the machine and run about 8 ozs of water-descaler through the wand and then turn off the machine. Wait 10 minutes and repeatthe last procedure. Do this until the tank is empty. When done with the descaler, rinse out the tank and put fresh water in the tank and run the whole tank through the wand. Then fill the tank and your ready to go.
