I have the same problem, did you have any luck with an answer

  • Alex62 Mar 22, 2009

I have the same problem, which means I can't see the subject before taking the picture. On other Digital Cameras ( SONY , CANON , FUJY ,
OLYMPUS ant others ) , is possible to look to the subject on behind big Screen before you are taking pIcture.

Please advise Are we have option to have View on Big Screen , before taking the photos with NIKON D80 18-135 lens.

Nikon d80 turn off image information from view screen

The up and down arrows on the multi-function button on the back of the camera set the image on the display. With the display on, press the up or down arrow to function through the display settings and the stop on the one you want.

This often happens when you accidentally hit one of the arrow buttons while taking the picture and this changes the display image to the histogram or other display setting.

Sigma 18-300mm lens

The problem may be with the sigma's aperture ring. Try this:

- Turn camera off
- Turn the aperture ring clockwise and lock it
- Turn camera on

If this does not solve the problem, do it again but turn it counter-clockwise

Lcd screen: lighter images flash from normal to

You are probably viewing the preview screen in "Highlight" mode. To fix this, use the dial button at the back of the D80 and click up (or down) to see another depiction of the preview screen. It will show you different options until you can see the normal picture without the flashing highlights. Hope this helps.

When I try to view my pictures on the LCD screen, the white area of the picture flashes. Last week on vacation, it would intermitenly stop taking pictures. I would have to set the lens and camera to...

Hello,

If this is the same as my Nikon this is the overexposed highlight display option.
This shows areas of the photograph that are overexposed slightly.

On my Nikon I use the up and down arrows on the back to cycle the LCD display options.
Stop when you get a display that does not flash.

As for the focus problem check if you have set the front control to AF not M, also check if the lens is set to A not M.

Control Panel display no information.

Do you mean the control panel on top or the big LCD on the back?

The display on top should be showing you stuff like the shutter speed and aperture as you take the picture.

The display on the back will not show you the picture while you're taking it. The D80 does not have a Live View capability.

Display screen doen not work,

I have recently talked to a Nikon tech. Three things he said to do, and make sure of, are: 1- with the power on do a reset by pushing the 2 green buttons on the top of the camera at the same time, untill the top screen flashes. 2 - make sure your using a nikon lens. 3 - Make sure your media is on the nikon approved list, here is a link http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14048&p_created=1155132515

I hope this helps
