Question about Sony KP-48S35 48" Rear Projection Television
Every time I plug any type of RCA jack or cable to the TV the picture blinks off and on with nothing plugged in the picture stays on and the sound is fine. Please advise me on any trouble shooting techniques you may have available. Thanking you in Advance, James Harris jr.
You need to have the crt px tubes checked for heater to cathode shorts, a picture tube restorer is needed to refurbish one or all three tubes to restore balance to tubes. Sony has a px muting built into the circuitry to save the tubes from being destroyed. If one tube is conducting more than one of the other two the imbalance is detected and causes picture (px) muting... blinking on & off the picture. Most repair shops have this crt restorer on hand.
