It makes the same beeping noise it would normally make when you turn it on. However, it does it periodically when the power cable is plugged in (not even turned on) and then will freeze about 5 minutes after putting a game in
SOURCE: Xbox 360 Freeze!!
It's a common fault with X boxes, the red lights indicate overheating, so make sure it is well ventillated and if neccasary you can purchase an add on cooler for the system.

Oh Wow, I am sorry to hear That dude. That has happened to me twice and i have heard to send it in to Cheap - O - Soft(Microsoft) to have it Fixed. What has happened to your Xbox is that it has Overheated, and now the CPU's ( Central processing units) Have broken off their sockets. What happens with the 360 is that when it gets so hot, the motherboard begins flexing against the CPU's, and their restraints called the X- clamps( The things that lock the CPU) and then the CPU breaks off. So your xbox keeps freezing Beacuse of that.
One thing you can do is to send it in to microsoft to have it repaired. just call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and then follow the instructions. But this only works if your xbox is under warranty.
If you are someone that is technically capable, you can open up your Xbox and fix it using this giude. It seems to have worked for many people and they have been glitch free for months. Here is the Link http://www.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Red-Ring-of-Deathwithout-towels/ . Just follow this and repair your Xbox once and for all. However, that is only if you know and are sure that you are capable of working with delicate electronics. And i heavily reccomend that if your Xbox is still under warranty, that you send it in to them and have it reapaired. Takes about two weeks and is free. Ok then notify me if that works

This happens a lot which is then i followed by the 3 red rings(red rings of death). is what you need to do is open your'e console, their are help video's on U tube for this. Once your is console open and you have the mother board taken out you need to remove the heat sinks which are on top of the chips. just un-snap the x clamps (on the bottom of the motherboard) and take off the heat sinks. unscrew the tabs on the bottom of the heats sinks and take them out. now take one of the heat sinks to a hardware store and find 8 screws about an inch long that screw into the heat sinks, also buy 16 plastic washers and 8 metal washers that fit onto the screws.also trey to find a BUTANE Torch this will save you from the expensive heatguns and work just as good. the last thing you need is Artic Silver 5 which can be found for 5 bucks on ebay. now once you have this you need to lay your motherboard on a flat imflammable area. light the torch and make shure it is on the LOWEST setting and that the flame is about 3/4 inch long and make a sort on hissing sound. make shure the top ofthe chips are cleaned with a paper towl of the paste. start with the torch about 3 inches over a chip and keep it moving with a sweeping motion after about 30 seconds start to get close but not to close about an inch an a half away and keep making sweeping and circular movements for about 2 min. do not get to close. now move to the next chip and do the same thing. now after ur done with the chips move the torch away about 3inches and keep heat on both chips for another minute and let them cool for a total of 10 to 15 minutes. once they are cool to the touch clean off the metal parts of the chips with alcohol (I preffer acitone too) make shure they have a mirror like finish and put a very little glob of the artic silver on the metal chips and evenly flaten it out till it covers them evenly, make shure to apply enough! ( i used the side of a allen wrench, its less messy). now on the bottom of both heat sinks, clean them off with acitone or alcohol and scrub them very firmly to get off the grime from the paste. now put one plastic washer on each screw and insert them through the bottom of the holes surrounding the chips flip the mother board over and put the other 8 plastic washers on the screws and on top of these put on the 8 metal washers. then put the heat sinks on and tighten them down. once you put the mother board in the metal casing, plug it in(dont fully essmble it yet) now test out your xbox by pressing the little button on the ring of lights board and let it boot up a usual. If it works then ur done, but if 3 red lights start blinking or two red light start blinking you need to ajust the 8 screws. through the 8 holes in the bottom of the metal casing stick a small srewdriver in there and make shure they are all snug but not to tight and then loosin each one about an 1/8 of a turn till there just a little loose. keep testing and adjusting the screws till it boots up with the green lights.
THIS WILL REPAIR 3RED LIGHTS,FREEZING,NO VIDEO, 2 red LIGHTS. in most cases 1 RED LIGHT will be fixed
GO TO A HAREWARE STORE FIND THE FOLLOWING THINGS IF YOU DONT HAVE THEM
16 platic washers
8 metal washers(make shure all the washers fit snuggly around the screws and are very thin)
8 screws about an inch long that fit heat sinks
Butane blow torch, just a small one will do
small torx wrench kit. big and small flat and phillips head screwdrivers
