Question about LG 24 in. LDS 5811 Built-in Dishwasher
The dishwasher leaves debris all over the dishes of the top rack. You can even see debris on the door when the cycle is complete. We have cleaned the bottom area around the propeller, and it didn't seem to help. We are now using, power scrub, sanitary and the extra rinse clycle I have the same problem but opposite. The top cleans but the bottom leaves debris and grease, which tells me it's not even getting hit with the hot water. What is even worse is that we have two identicle LG dishwashers (almost 2 years old) and it is happening to both now.
Recommend you remove the approximately 10 screws to pull the entire filter and manually clean. Remove all debris you find and thoroughly rinse out the filter if you can separate the top from the bottom. If the sump area is greasy, use a de-greasing spray to cut through it. Resemble, checking that there are no blockages in the holes on the spray arms.
Fill a bowl or cup with white vinegar and place it on the lower rack of the empty dishwasher. Do not add detergent. Run the quick cycle. The inside of the dishwasher should now be clean and not greasy. If still greasy, use the de-greasing spray (avaiable at all stores in the cleaning section.)
For 30 days, use only Electrosol or Cascade powder. Do NOT use gel or tablets, ever. Please report back your results. Good Luck!

If the unit is cleaning the bottom dishes normally, try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control board. If that doesn't work, then the control board needs to be replaced. The problem is that control board is not diverting the water to the upper wash arm during the cycle. Possibly a program problem
