John, Did you get your problem with your Jensen AWM970 solved? I have just bought the same device in an imported caravan and can't for the life of me get into the region menu??? I'm about to throw it out but because it's so large it will leave a huge hole to fill. Any help would be good. Cheers, Phil.

SOURCE: BackGorund Change on a Jensen VM9311TS In-Dash DVD player

There is no e-brake override code. You have to hardwire it to bypass the e-brake. Take the peach-colored wire and ground it to metal inside the dash. Put a toggle switch inline on the wire and mount it somewhere you can reach it. When you get the blue screen when starting a movie, open the switch for 3-5 seconds, then close it again to reapply the ground. Your movie will start up, and you can then drive away with it playing.

How can I change the region settings on my Sony DAV DZ870W many thanks, Shane

When a DVD disc is created, it is encoded with a "Region number." The disc will only play on DVD players with the same Region number - for instance, a Region 3 disc won't play on a Region 1 player.
Region 1: U.S. and U.S. Territories, Canada
Region 2: Japan, Western Europe, Middle East, South Africa
Region 3: South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast and East Asia Region 4: New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands, Mexico, Central/
South America
Region 5: Russia and the former Soviet Union, Africa, Indian
subcontinent, North Korea Region 6: China
The only way to get around the region codes, is to rip a DVD to your computer and remove the region code. Then burn the DVD to a DVD R. There are programs around on the net, but I'm not sure it is legal in all countries.
Google for the programs.
A DVD player sometimes allows you to change the region code once. But it not even would allow you to switch back after you changed it once.

What dvd region is Australia

Australia is DVD-region 4:
DVD-Region codes and countries Region code Area FREE Informal term meaning "worldwide". Region 0 is not an official setting; discs that bear the region 0 symbol either have no flag set or have regions 1-6 flags set. Region 0 is commonly referred to as "Region Free", especially when talking about DVD and Blu-ray Disc players. 0 1 United States, Canada, Bermuda, Caribbean, U.S. territories 2 Europe, Middle East, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland, British Overseas Territories, British Crown Dependencies, French Overseas departments and territories 3 Southeast Asia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau 4 South America, Central America, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea and much of Oceania 5 Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Africa (exceptEgypt, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho), Central Asia, Mongolia, North Korea 6 China 7 Reserved for future use, MPAA-related DVDs and "media copies" of pre-releases in Asia 8 International venues such as aircraft, cruise ships, spacecraft, etc. 9 These region discs have all eight flags set, allowing the disc to be played in any location, on any player. Can't play uk DVD in Australia

To changethe Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware -Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVDdrive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have beenmade.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the4th change. Region 4 = Australia
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmwareto make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrongfirmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece ofsoftware (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region andPasskey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There areseveral available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

You will need to get a second dvd player locally to play those movies. Some DVD players allow you to change region codes but limit you to 5 changes, it locks in on the 5th.

What region is the DVD player that comes with the new TEAC TV that I bought? I can't find the info on the manual or the internet. Please help. I live in Australia. Thanks.

It depends if the DVD player is separate to the TV or built into it. Assuming the DVD is a separate unit, it must be region 4 for Australia, unless specified otherwise (on the player's rear panel or in the operation manual). The only types of DVD players/recorders allowable in Australia are region 4, and multi-region. If the player plays region 4 DVDs, but not other regions, there's your answer. A model number and/or brand of the DVD player would help.

Laptop dvd player stuck on region 1 need 4 for

Try changing the region by right clicking your DVD drive in explorer and select properties, go to hardware tab, select your DVD brand and type, click properties, go to DVD region, and change the region.. Just remember, any DVD only allowed to change the region for about 4 times, after that, you can't change the region anymore..
