hey there! thanks for using Fixya.com!
If you drained the battery try to recharge again from your pc or laptop, I am sure that there is nothing wrong happened when you left your mobile phone connected with your pc. You PC is off, so there is no power supply that will flow to your mobile or charger. It make sense that it just drained. Try to buy a new battery and test it, let's see if your mobile will work again, if you don't want to buy a new battery to waste some penny. Just bring your phone to your nearest technical shop to test it. I guess they will not charge you for that.
Cheers! thanks! don't forget to mark!

I charge my phone (which is a Motorola) all the time with the USB cord. If you have the driver for your phone installed on your computer, it should work =)

SOURCE: Samsung galaxy tab will not
For most android platform products when you have "Mass Storage" turned on it wont charge. Its possible that the Car-USB charger isn't putting out enough juice to charge it in its on state. Could be to the quality of the car charger or that the car is already under strain from say a stereo or other devices being charged.

Check the mains power adapter with a multimeter. Plug the adapter into the wall mains socket and then measure the voltage on the adapter plug, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the adapter. If you get a low reading or zero reading the the charging adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
