Question about Dell OptiPlex 210L PC Desktop
There iss something BUGGING Me when I use my Optiplex PC. I cannot Browse, Download, Load Pages, Etc., well w/ my Desktop PC. I think it has "BUGS" installed in it by our Local Tech. who fixed our PC about a month ago.. SLOW LOADIN' TIMES, CRASHES, FREQUENT CLEANINGS BY OUR INT. SEC. SOFTWARE make it more prone to System Failures & Inconsistencies.. LOADING THE BIOS IS A HASSEL..!!!! Can U help me with these Problems..? Thank You.
Start running a thorough virus scan.
Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.
Uninstall any extras like those pushy toolbars, and add-ons.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Open up the case and remove any add in cards and memory modules. Try to start up by adding these back one at a time until the unit stops booting normally. The light combination is not one recognised in the user manual so I am guessing you have a non-descript fault with one of your components. Be careful when you open the case as to not disturb the ribbon to the motherboard which controls the power, I have had a very long experience trying to get one of these reconnected!

The fans on Dell power supplies are rather noisy and prone to failure. Find out if the noisy fan is inside the case or inside the power supply. If your computer has become slow you should scan for viruses and spyware. If the scan does not improve things it may be time for an upgrade.
The GX240 only supports up to 1 gigabyte of RAM, you should have the maximum installed. I would not spend more than $50 upgrading this computer, you can find better used ones in the $100-$200 range.

First things first: You say that you only have 1 megabyte of ram. I think that you meant to say gigabyte. But if you do only have one mb, then you definitely need to get more ram. Secondly, press control+alt+delete and click the processes tab. Please say the number of processes running and the CPU Usage (they're counted and documented at the bottom left of the task manager window) in your reply. What anti-spyware checks did you run and have you checked your computer with an online scanner like kaspersky? Do you have any anti-virus (McAfee, Norton, AVG) software running? Close any unnecessary processes in the bottom right of your desktop screen on the toolbar (these icons are displayed next to your clock).

you can go to dells website and click support drivers and downloads type in the service tag of the machine (its 7 letters and nubers found on CPU Ex: BF14FJ1) and based on the service tag the correct audio drivers should be displayed for you to download.
