    Who hooked this up? I wouldn't know if I hadn't did it now,would I?
The only way I know, there are others?People some of the connections in the PC look the same?Ahah, but are not, the connections that add drives are like the connections that add disks,
or Harddrives?Although when the PC sees you hook to drives
shazam then you added a drive not Harddisk? What I will ask each of you to do ,is see what else connects to the connectors if it is your Harddrive then connect a harddrive,OK? Same as the Dvd and DVDrw
if the other connectors are drives floppy is included then connect a drive? This has already happened today so you get the rest of the day off.Never work when someone is rushing, busted?Email me?

In your device manager, richt-click the device and select properties. Next check if it says the device is working properly and check if the device is not disabled. If it's disabled, enable it. Otherwise tell me what it says.

360 desktop wit Window Xp. Hardware (CDROM -PLDS DH-16AAS DVDRW) installing problem

Two items on a single IDE ribbon cable require a master and a slave. The next step is to let BIOS know of the drive. Press F2 during boot and check. Look for it were other drives are, and there maybe a auto select / discovery option. It must show in BIOS, or there is no going forward.

If BIOS sees it and XP does not. Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Walla CD-ROM in the house.

If none of this works. Test another cable, CD-ROM, or computer. Oh yea, virus protection. Do a thorough scan. This was a common problem back in the day.

My burners do not show up as installed on my computer they just disappeared

Does your CD burner eject or does its light indicator come up? I just want to check to make sure there's power getting into the CD burner. And if it does:
1. Right click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and select Manage
2. Click on Device Manager on the left pane.
3. On the right pane, select DVD/CD ROM drives to expand it.
Do you see your CD drive listed in there? If yes, right click and select uninstall. Then restart your computer. This will reinstall the driver that came with Windows.

If this does not work, you need to update the driver.

Cd/rom not working

Try deleting it in the device manager and then reboot your computer to see if it will detect it, then when it asks, point it to the driver.

My system said it can't find my cdwrite,cd-rom;dvd rom/combo. ineed it to work. i am a study

Not being sure what operating system you have I will give directions for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Windows XP
Right click My Computer > click Properties > click the Hardware tab > click on Device Manager > look in the list of hardware devices for CD ROM or DVD ROM or some instance of that. Click the + symbol next to it. > click on the name of the device> There may be a little ! on a yellow background next to the name of the device as well. When you click on it, and the box opens it may say "This device is not working properly". Well we already knew that, of course! But there is a chance that it says "This device is disabled" If that is the case then you may be able to go to the driver tab and enable the device (or the enable option may also be under the General tab). If it is not disabled then go to the driver tab and chose to rollback the driver if you have recently made any updates. Or click Update the driver. If you have not opened the computer case before this happened, then it is probably not hardware related. It may be hardware related if you had opened the computer case recently as a cable might be loose.

Windows Vista
To access Device Manager in Windows Vista either go to My Computer on your desktop or go to Start > My Computer > Right click My Computer. Device Manager is in the left pane on the screen.

I hope this helps. These are usually the most common problems. If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
