How do I repair the Sony Bravia LCD HDTV?
Hi... If it is a power board problem it is most likely capacitors that fail. Look for any electrolytic capacitors that are bulging on top. They are normally round with an aluminium top with a cross marked in the metal. They fail over time if they are low quality or high ESR with high transient voltages.

Make sure that you replace them with same or higher voltage ratings but with the same capacitance.

If you do buy them for stock in your repair shop look for high quality low ESR variety that will not a cause comebacks.

could be blown caps on your power board. if you dont know what they are i dont recommend doing the work yourself. take it to a repair shop. if you feel comfortable taking it apart you can check and see if any are buldged on your power board.

I have lost volume on my sky remote tv is sony bravia kdl40v2500 any suggestions, I have tried 0533 and 1799 and no joy
Reset ur sky box,by unplug,replug it an hour later,let the box bootup,and upgrade it software should be back to normal.Not than ur remote CPU is shorted,some of the functions are dead.

Turn tv on power light comes on but has no sound or picture then the standby light comes on and flashs and power light goes off
if the standby light blinks 6 times it has a bad backlite board (the most common with that set) other than that i will need to know how many times in a row it blinks. thanks....techman
