SOURCE: how to open the case of a wertheim b20 vacuum cleaner

Take out all the obvious screws around the base and coloured top using the appropiate driver.   There is one screw under the flap used to hold the dust filter in place.   The flap is spring loaded and can only be removed (as I see it) once the top is taken from the base.   To remove the screw I used a pair of long nose pliers and some patience.   Once the top is clear of the base, other screws can be easily seen and removed.

My problem was a badly worn bearing at the commutator end of the motor.   There was so much movement that the brushes would not follow the commutator with a result of excessive noise and sparking.   The brushes had dug into the commutator segments and chipped etc.

The bearing is permanently pressed into the motor end and cannot be replaced.   This means a new motor which, in my part of the world, was quoted as $250.00.    My neighbour will be purchasing a new vacuum cleaner but after 15 years with the old one he hasn't done too badly!

SOURCE: my carpet cleaner will not spray. Maybe a little thru the tool but not enough pressure to SPRAY

Thanks to many others who have posted on similar problems -- water and/or solution sprays through the handheld tools, but not through the main machine.

As others have suggested, I removed the water reservoir, which exposes the 2 main water sprays mounted above the rollers. Using, pliers, I carefully slid the clips back. Gently but firmly removed the two red nozzles.

Elsewhere I have read suggestions to just do one nozzle at a time. However, I found out that if you remove both red nozzles, you can then blow through one side and it will come out the other. In my case, that dislodged a nice collection of crystal-like chunks (guessing it may be crystallized residue from the cleaning solution).

There was also a bit of blockage in one of the red nozzles, which I cleaned out. Make sure you can blow through both of them with little resistance.

Reassemble: Push red nozzles back into hoses. Using pliers, reposition sprung clip back over the red nozzle. Snap nozzles back into place. Refill tanks and power it up.

In my case, that resolved the problem of no sprays from the main machine. Sprays like new now. Hope yours does too!!

p.s. Make sure you do give it about a minute after you turn it on before you try spraying. If the pump is not allowed sufficient time to prime, you may not get proper flow.

SOURCE: How do you open a wertheim 2000P vacuum cleaner?

Hi there,
SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. The ET2000 has a latch that is located at the very end of the machine lid (about 6 cm in front of where hose clips in. If you sit the machine up on its back end you should see the black lever that needs to be pushed in. Now I will also say that it is possible that you have actually been pushing this but the lid still wont open, this is because every now and again the whole latch moves itself out of alignment by about a milimetre. The easy fix for this is a gentle screw drive to assist the relesing of the catch, this needs to be gently pushed in at the same time as squeezing the latch (hand at top of latch screwdriver at base kind of toward the middle of machine). You should be able to get it open like this with only light pressure. Now of course if you need bags or filters please visit us at NelsonVacuums.com.au.
Kind regards Alec

Vax customer support

It is unclear as to whether you have a vacuum cleaner or a carpet
cleaner. When there is no more give you have stretched the hose
to the MAX. Vacuums and carpet cleaners come with stair tools.
If for some reason you do not have these go to a local vacuum
store and tell them what you have and ask them what you may need.

Dennis

How to take hoover carpet cleaner out of tool mode

Hey there! With most of our carpet washers you only need to disassemble the hose attachment and recline the handle to switch from tool back to carpet mode. If you have done this and your cleaner is still operating on hose mode we recommend taking the unit in to a Hoover authorized service center for inspection. Follow the link to locate the nearest service center to you. Service Center Locator

Hope this helps!

The tools hose on a bissel powerbrush carpet cleaner leaks

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BISSELL deep cleaner. Your upholstery hose should not leak when used. There is a small o-ring on the end of the hose that may be missing, or if the tool is cracked it could leak. A service center could better help you identify the problem. Here is a link to find your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center: http://www.bissell.com/service-centers/?zip=Enter%20your%20zip%20code&distance=50&cid=ccsocial

Wertheim 6035, lost manual, where is button to restart carpet head?

There is a hole at the back of the powerhead near the height adjustment lever. Just put something slender in the hole like a screw driver to reset.

Vaccuum cleaner with a broken hose

Is it just the corrugations of the hose broken? With most hose fittings there are two small oval shaped lugs on the side of the fitting. Grab a small screwdriver and gently (you may need a little force) push these in to ease the click ring out.

Once out, you'll find a type of screw cuff. Some hoses just unscrew, some are glued in (use boiling hot water to soften to separate).

Cut the broken piece of hose off, make sure the click ring is still on the hose in the right direction, reaffix the screw cuff, and replace the hose (with click ring) back into the hose fitting.

If it's actually the hose fitting broken, check with your local Wertheim retailer or repairer.

How do I get the handtool to work on my Hoover Steamvac carpet cleaner?

Please reference page 11-12 on this manual:
http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F6039900.pdf

The tools are plugged on to the end of the hose, and the hose supplies water and vacuum to the tool.
