Starting from the start plug in the device and XP will detect and look for new drivers a search for drivers is usually done in the inf directory under windows or winnt directory If a driver is not found the computer pops up a question did a Cd or software come with this device if you install the software the a reboot is usally needed if you do not do a reboot you can try once the drivers have been installed unplug the device and plug it back in again the computer will search for the new drivers that are installed and should set up the device to work If it does not work you will need to get driver for the device that will work with XP I have a scanner than need XP drivers but will work on one of the older computers but not XP

Unfortunately this sofware only works with windows 95/98, but if you use windows XP compatability wizard it should work.

Windows Me and 2000 -
A new camera TWAIN driver (version 4.1e) compatible with Windows Me and 2000 is now available for download. The new TWAIN driver will allow photo transfer using most image viewing or editing programs that are TWAIN compatible.
Windows NT4 -
No TWAIN driver is available for use with Windows NT4.
However, the PDC 1100 accommodates a removable CompactFlash memory card (maximum 128MB) for storing images. When used with a Windows NT4-compatible CompactFlash card reader, images can be dragged and dropped from the camera's memory card to any location on your computer's hard drive.

NOTE: In order for the version 0.1 driver to work correctly, the PhotoMAX software must also be compatible with Windows 2000.
The PhotoMAX SE software originally included with the Fun! Flash 640 is not compatible with Windows 2000.

Yes, you may install the PDC 640 camera TWAIN driver only. The PDC 640 TWAIN driver can be used with most TWAIN compliant image editing software.
The most current driver is available for download on our website and is compatible with Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 and XP (there is no compatibility with Windows NT at this time).
The PDC 700 camera TWAIN driver is not 100% compatible with Windows Me because it does not support USB downloads. No new driver software is available from Polaroid -- however, a compatible TWAIN driver is available from a third-party source.
The Pretec DC-800 is the functional equivalent of Polaroid's PDC 700. Pretec's DC-800 Setup Disk for Windows 95/98/ME/2000 is available for download at its online Driver Download Center.
Testing done by Polaroid has shown that this driver works with the PDC 700 using the listed operating systems, including Windows Me.
