Philips sets use a four
digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711,
although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If
"Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit
the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or
SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on
the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it
is incorrect. Once in the AUTOLOCK
or SMARTLOCK menu, go to BLOCK, and push the "right arrow" key. Go to
BLOCKING OPTIONS and press the "right arrow" key. Go to MASTER
DISABLE and press the "right arrow" key so that it says "MASTER
DISABLE ON". The v-chip is now reset.

I succeeded is using the DirectTV remote control for the Emerson 42" plasma TV, by using a Samsung code. On my TV, was 10060. If this one does not work, there are a bunch of others that might work. Good luck

Picture is not centered on monitor leaving a 2 1/2 inch; black border on Philips LCD By dmorrow54 on Nov 13, 2007 Again, nothing in manual for Philips LCD will correct the fact that the picture in HD-D mode will not center. The picture runs off the monitor on the left (facing the monitor) with a 2 1/2" black border on the right (facing the monitor). Using the format button on the remote of directional arrows will not correct the issue. The wide-screen/ full-screen function with format does nothing. Moving into TV mode, the format function works to display screen in several ways 4:3, 19:2, super-zoom, wide-screen, full-screen. Help, please. posted 3 years ago
I have a Philips 30 inch LCD and solved the problem by using the circular arrow button on the TV remote. Pointing it at the TV and clicking "right" (3 o'clock on the button), the picture moved right. Same thing on for "left". Worked for me. Add a comment

WOW! It works!! The picture on my Magnavox (aka Philips) 37MF321D had shifted to the right. I figured I had a big repair bill coming up soon. But hey! Just used the TV remote as described by "Guest', and re-centered the picture to the left. Wallah! Thanks ""Guest" whomever you are! Reply
