Find a music store that sells yamaha keys and PA gear. Ask them for help. Couldnt cost more than $10 for a good schematic

I have a crown xls602 with no audio. Speaker and power relays activates normally, signal leds palpitates with input but no sound. Appreciate any help. Thank ou.

- Use your favourite search engine (Webcrawler is dandy) and type your question/info into it.
- SEARCH ENGINES ARE YOUR FRIEND!!! Type in keywords and check the results.

- I'm not an expert but it almost sounds like maybe a speaker relay or whatever on the amp has bailed out.

Good Luck :)

How to fix problems internally on a yamaha p3200 power amp when the protection stays on from cold power up

First check all speaker wiring to make certain there's no shorts.
Protection system come on if there's an overload. These are caused by shorts. If the speakers and wires are good then the only other cause is the main amp, possibly a transistor, has shorted.

One of my outputs does not work at all, the other works fine, when i go to bridge it doesnt word even not. How can i find out what issue i must repair, can it be the Si-PNP 250v 16a 250w

hi,
First of all you have to check The positive and negative 95V in the collector pin of all output tansistors. There should be +95V in the all collectors of MJ15024 and --95V in all collectors of MJ15025 poer the output transistors of faulty channel.ANd tere should be +/-- 0.5 volt in all output transistors base pin. All emitter pin should be aproximatly 0V. If not then you have to check the tansistors Q13 to Q16 and Q17 to Q20. Also the driver transistors Q9, Q10, Q11,Q12,.
If you need the schematic diagram that i will sent it to you.
ok

What is the power output in a power amp and is it expensive

the output transistors are 5 to 10 bucks each for most.there are 2 or 4 on each channel, depending on brand .some high end amps have 10 transistors on each channel.mosfets are a different story as they run 20 to 50 bucks each and there is 2 or 4 on each channel.some amps use a big IC instead of transistors.those have 16 to 24 pins and are easy to change. Those IC are 25 to 75 for a stereo one like stk4141 etc.since most yamaha amps are dc coupled, when the output transistors go,they take out the driver transistors as well.If you replace the outputs and the drive transistors are shorted, they will blow the outputs again.

Yamaha g100-112 guitar amp.power light comes on no sound.Transistor heat sink cold

do you have a low hum from the speaker when u turn it on? if no, then take it to the repair tech. probably power on indicator is okay but power supply does not reach the pre-amp or the power amp section. case maybe bad filter capacitor or bad series power line resistor. get it checked. i sincerely doubt internal speaker loose connections.

No signal through main amp

If the speaker relay does not activate, then the amp is in protect mode. There is a problem in that has been detected in the final stage of the amp. You indicate that you have 4V at the power transistors. That is likely the B+ voltage. What is the reading at the other 2 pins? Please post that and I should be able to give you some ideas.

Thanks,
Dan

may i ask you did you put silicone grease in your transistor and apply a good mica insulator in all of your transistor---------look for any burnt resistor or explosive capacitor -----check for scew tie your supply voltage to earth by wrong.

Is it worth fixing at this cost?

your repairman told you 2chips? the output stage of this amp should have 2pairs of power transistors each channel. that means 4pieces. and besides, my experince in Yamaha(where i worked before) not only we replace the poweroutput transistors but also the drivers. it doesn't cost that much. nor the service fee depends in your area but the cost of power transistor shoud be around US 0.95 that was 5years ago.

Nad amp failure

Check fuses mounted near transformer . If blown check output transistor. Also check transistor transistors on small heat sink . they will cause fuse to blow.

Yamaha P4500 service manual

one thing for sure Yamaha will not turn their back on their customers for support. What they normally say is that you contact your nearest service center for assistance. But you know you have a very good chance of getting a copy of the service manual since this is a very old model. i have the same amp being used in our church and yamaha service Japan has sent me by postal mail. technology nowadays is much different so maybe they can even send you in pdf format.

Write them by postal mail :
Yamaha Corporation
A/V PA Service Department
10-1, Nakazawa-cho, Hamamatsu, 430-8650 Japan.

simply tell them you need the manual and you are doing the servicing on your own. No one in your area can help you with it.

anyway, what is wrong with your P4500, it's a good amp but sensitive. very good design, hard to troubleshoot if you're not familiar with Yamaha amps. The main parts you can not replace buying from a local store though you may get the same part numbers specially power/driver transistors. it always comes in complementary pair critically matched by tthe factory. i tell you don't get the replacement anywere but Yamaha only. Yamaha have made to order power transistors tailor made for this Amp. you'll find the same transistor number outside but when you plug the unit, it wont last and worst it bursts !!! be carefull. Very hard to scan a copy of manual for you, but if you dont get a reply from Japan you can email me and we'll try to find a way to send you a soft copy.
