Find a music store that sells yamaha keys and PA gear. Ask them for help. Couldnt cost more than $10 for a good schematic

Receiver main power relay tripped in 2 secs.all i disconnected speakers still tripped.i disconnected again power amplifier main power supply still tripped.

There is either a shorted part in the power supply section or a shorted part (say a transistor if it uses them) in the main amp section. This will be located on the big heat sink. Power supply culprits are transformer, any semiconductor device, such as power regulator, rectifier etc.

I have a crown xls602 with no audio. Speaker and power relays activates normally, signal leds palpitates with input but no sound. Appreciate any help. Thank ou.

- Use your favourite search engine (Webcrawler is dandy) and type your question/info into it.
- SEARCH ENGINES ARE YOUR FRIEND!!! Type in keywords and check the results.

- I'm not an expert but it almost sounds like maybe a speaker relay or whatever on the amp has bailed out.

Good Luck :)

I left my fender frontman 65r on for over a year and yesterday a gentle hum for a few seconds then a loud hum for a few seconds more then no more power to the unit. I opened it and troubleshooted it around...

Why was it on for over a year :D Has anyone replaced the fuse? In the service manual I found it has to be only 2 Amps! Okay let's solve the problem. The power transformer was overloaded which caused the broken winding. It is still overloaded what can be heard by the hum sound. First thought was to check main capacitors or better just replace them! If the hum gets louder, they might also become warm. Check voltages after bridge rectifier and smoothing circuit. They should be +/-42 V (TP3, TP4) and +/- 16 V (TP5, TP6) Let me know which of them is faulty Cheers

Output transistor number for lpa1180

LPA1800 power amp uses 2 x MOSFET transistors on the output. IRFP9140 AND IRFP140. Also check T4 (MJE340) and T5 (MJE350).

What is the power output in a power amp and is it expensive

the output transistors are 5 to 10 bucks each for most.there are 2 or 4 on each channel, depending on brand .some high end amps have 10 transistors on each channel.mosfets are a different story as they run 20 to 50 bucks each and there is 2 or 4 on each channel.some amps use a big IC instead of transistors.those have 16 to 24 pins and are easy to change. Those IC are 25 to 75 for a stereo one like stk4141 etc.since most yamaha amps are dc coupled, when the output transistors go,they take out the driver transistors as well.If you replace the outputs and the drive transistors are shorted, they will blow the outputs again.

Yamaha g100-112 guitar amp.power light comes on no sound.Transistor heat sink cold

do you have a low hum from the speaker when u turn it on? if no, then take it to the repair tech. probably power on indicator is okay but power supply does not reach the pre-amp or the power amp section. case maybe bad filter capacitor or bad series power line resistor. get it checked. i sincerely doubt internal speaker loose connections.

Electric Guitar wont play through Amp

the buzzing is indicative of an open ground connection, check the cord by substitution or with an ohm meter, if the cord is good look at the connections to the jack inside the amp ( im guessing you built the amp from a kit). Is this a solid state amplifier? Tube amps have lethal votages and should not be experimented on without knowledge of electronic safety. Also if there is more than one input to the amp try plugging the guitar into another one and see if its still the same.

Is it worth fixing at this cost?

your repairman told you 2chips? the output stage of this amp should have 2pairs of power transistors each channel. that means 4pieces. and besides, my experince in Yamaha(where i worked before) not only we replace the poweroutput transistors but also the drivers. it doesn't cost that much. nor the service fee depends in your area but the cost of power transistor shoud be around US 0.95 that was 5years ago.
