Question about Exercise & Fitness

Open Question

My Weider Platinum WESY78733 won't change weight resistence even though the electronic board reads that it does.

It's an older machine (early 2000's). I have tried to recalibrate with no luck.

SOURCE: Weider Platinum Crossbow is locked up.

i have the manual, to recalibrate the machine press and hold the next button and the motorized wieght adjustment+ button for five seconds. when the buttons are released, a number will appear in the reps display. press the next button again, then press the motorized weight adjustment+ button: this should start the reclaibration process. i am lucky i bought the machine in 10-2004 and it has a ten year warrenty. it isn't working it happened before and they had to replace the motor. if it works remembe to unplug the machine when not in use. it is a great machine to get in shape with. you just have to use it.

This is a common problem with this machine, the wiring inside the back. Mine was broken too, it was just a loose wire, but the stupid wire is so inside a protective case, you have to take the whole machine apart to be able to reach it.

You'll need a technician to come to your home. Call Icon to get a reference.

SOURCE: I have a Weider Platinum XP800 Crossbow that will not start.

I had the same problem. Take off the black box at the base and check to see if any of the wires broke lose from the connectors, mine did. One pair of wires was alot shorter than the rest, so when the previous owner disassembled the crossbow he lifted the unit too far before disconnecting the wire connectors thus braking the two wires from the connector. Simply remove the remaining wire bits from the connector with something sharp (unplug machine from the wall). Then take the broken wires and push them down into the connector terminals with a butter knife. The terminals will cut through the wire insulation and make a contact with the wire. Problem solved.

SOURCE: weider platinum xp800 does not work

There is a wire that breaks that is located inside of the pivot arm that hooks to the limit switch. (If you take off the back look on the RIGHT side of the machine.) When that breaks, the weight will not adjust.
I extended and rerouted my wires to run on the outside of the arm instead of the inside where they get nicked or broken by the moving parts.

Weider Platinum xp600 won't change weight

I just finished fixing this exact problem on my XP600. I also could increase the weight, but not lower it. Both wires (grey and orange) were cut from the lower limit switch (it's in the upper right corner). The way the harness was jammed into the unit, it broke the wires. The limit switch fell apart as I was taking it out, so I soldered the grey (there's two) and the orange wires together. The display now works properly. Because the switch is now bypassed, I just have to be careful and not drop the weight past 15/20 lbs. If you raised the weight when the display wasn't reading right, it will reset once you increase the weight to the max. Then you can decrease and it will read the right weight.

open the housing in back of unit and manually turn the bar (top left)next to pulley motor until the resistance bar is all the way to the right or in the lowest wieght setting. make sure to put the weight on the console to 10lbs. now plug unit in and press and hold the next button and the + on the wieght selector for five seconds then press the + again on weight then next one more time and this will recalibrate the machine, unplug and plug back in and ur ready to go.
