Simmons crib model 1519-86-85

I no longer have the foot release, and we are wanting to replace / repair this to make the crib usable. It was the top of the line crib at the time. It is not on the recall list as far as I can find. Would love to make one side permanently up and the other side to still drop. Help please.

SOURCE: how can i get replacement parts for a simplicity crib 8994w ..

This company went out of business and I was unable to contact anyone about ordering parts or manuals. Unfortunately the new company that bought them, isn't taking responsiblity for any Products from the original Manufacturer.

Note, the website phone number and email are non working.

However, I did get a number to a person at the Blackstreet Captial Partners, who help in the purchase of the company. This is the communcations dept. Ask for Don Meyer 202-898-0995.

Instructions for simmons crib model 12449185

Simmons has received more than 800 reports of bracket hooks breaking. In one case, a 6-month-old hit his chin on the side rail when the mattress dropped.

Simmons is offering a free repair kit, which includes replacement brackets and instructions. The repair can be made easily in the home.

Most of the recalled Simmons cribs were made in 1998. Those sold at Sears were made in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Only "98" cribs of all models are recalled, except for Sears cribs. For Sears cribs (which are model numbers 025260 and 065060), the years "98" "99" and "00" are recalled because the problem bracket hooks were used all three years. The brackets on all other Simmons cribs except for Sears changed to different type attachments after 1998. The cribs were sold under the name "Little Folks". Simmons and the two-digit year of manufacture are written on a label affixed to the crib's headboard. The year is the two-digit number following the model number. "Little Folks" is on another label affixed to the headboard. The cribs are constructed of maple or ash, and are painted or stained in more than a dozen different colors, including natural, golden and white. "Simmons" is written on the top rail. Simmons will help consumers identify if their crib is recalled.

Discount, mass merchandise, juvenile product and department stores, including Sears, sold the cribs nationwide from January 1998 through December 2000 for between $200 and $600.

Consumers should stop using these recalled cribs immediately and contact Simmons to receive free replacement brackets by overnight mail. Consumers can contact Simmons anytime at (800) 421-2951 or at www.simmonsjp.com/recall.cfm

I have a simmons crib that is ten years old and has a drop down side and plastic hardware. It has been a great crib. With the recent recall what options are there? Are there replacement parts available?

I have a similar crib. It's old, but it is in great shape, and we've had no problems. We don't even use the drop side because we're both tall. I emailed Simmons at CustomerService@sjfdec.com. They sent the following response:
>>
Hello,

I am sorry; with the recent announcement by the CPSC your crib would longer meet the safety standards. We are unable to supply the parts or instructions to any crib over 10 years old effective 6/24/2010. Your crib model was manufactured in 1995. We will not have a fix or replacement parts for this crib.

In keeping with industry and regulatory safety standards – cribs manufactured before 2001 will not be furnished with the Immobilizer Retrofit kit.

Cribs older than 10 years old have surpassed their lifespan. The reason for this safety standard is to ensure the quality of the crib has not been compromised, the wood may have possible degradation or the crib could have possible or broken parts and no longer meets the current government safety standards.

If your crib was manufactured before 2001 – please discard the crib and do not use or try to repair it yourself.

If you have any questions on the recall or safety standards you can go to www.cpsc.gov.

Thank you,

No directions to assemble a Simmons crib model 2746 76 219

Most of the cribs that you buy have directions on the bottom of the mattress board on how to assemble. They might not be word for word, but its pretty informative. Hey, it does have pictures! LOL

Simmons Crib sold under Little Folks Cannot figure out how to assemble.

I hope the instructions in this document work for you:

http://humm.110mb.com/Downloads_Crib.htm

The guide was written for a 1992 Simmons Little Folks Crib but many of their models are very similar.

Also in the same website are the instructions obtained from customerservice@sjfdec.com
