Adding a graphics card can be complicated. It is best that you research how to do so on Google thoroughly before attempting to get a new card. Your computers power supply *must* be sufficient to support the card or you might blow up your PC. Check out this youtube video for some visual help.

Now I'm not sure about a Medion PC mt7 for GFX cards. Check you're computer's specifications and see if it has any slots for a GFX card. There are 3 types today: PCI, AGP and PCI-Express.

Make sure you're computer has one of these slots, and check to see if you're graphics card matches the slot inside you're computer.

The video should help you out.

Thank you for your reply. I wneed to retrive material from my hard drive and favorites list. What is the best way to do this?

Remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapterand then plug this adapter into a working computer's USB port. The computer sees this as an USB mass storage device (external hard drive) and youcan open the various folders and files, then you can backup your data.

Need to take cover off a HP all in one computer that has lock. Need to replace hard drive. How do I get if off?

I never knew a computer came in All-In-One's. That's for Multifunction Printers. Anyway, if you're asking how to get to the hard drive it's simple.

If you're talking about a desktop, then you simply remove the outer case usually secured by 4 or less screws. Then you can remove the hard drive which might have screws or some type of bracket holding it in place.

If you're talking about a laptop in most cases you simply turn the laptop over and on the bottom look for a cover that has 3 or 4 circular disks on it. That's the hard drive. Remove the screws that is holding the cover, then you will see the drive. The drive might be secured by screws also and it might be inside of what is called a caddy which has screws. Remove all screws to get the drive.

Computer switching off

If you brought the machine to me, the very first thing I'd is open the case and look inside. The most common cause of system shutdown is overheating, either due to fan failure or a dirty machine. Dirt is the enemy of the PC> If there is a failed CPU fan, or the CPU heat sink is totally clogged with dirt, then I would recommend getting a can of dust remover (canned air) at your local big box store and clean out the PC, then try again. Do not remove the CPU heat sink to clean it unless you have replacement thermal paste to reinstall it! You can usually clean it sufficiently wit the canned air.

Reinstall Hard Drive

  1. Step 1 Back up your data. Make sure you back up any important data stored on the hard drive in the event something goes wrong. Also, if you are selling or giving the hard drive to someone else, you should erase any data on the disk by formatting it.
  2. Step 2 Open the case. Remove any metal rings, watches or bracelets you may be wearing. Unplug the computer from the electrical outlet, then touch the metal casing to eliminate any static charge. You can also use an anti-static wrist strap if you prefer. Check the user's manual if necessary to determine how to open your particular PC case.
  3. Step 3 Locate the hard drive. Typically the hard drive will be connected to a flat 2 1/2 inch wide IDE cable and a power cable. Hard drives are often housed in removable metal cages which are secured to the computer case with one or more screws. Refer to your user's manual to locate the hard drive if necessary.
  4. Step 4 Disconnect the hard drive. Unplug the hard drive from the IDE and power cables. Grab the plastic IDE cable connector with your thumb and forefinger and gently pull until the connector breaks free. The power cable can be difficult to remove if the connector is fitted tightly. Make sure you don't bend any of the pins when disconnecting the cables.
  5. Step 5 Remove the hard drive. If the hard drive is fitted in a metal cage, locate and remove the screws that are holding the cage in place. Hold your hand under the cage to catch it if necessary. Once the cage is free, remove the small screws on either side of the hard drive to remove it from the cage. If the hard drive is connected directly to the computer case, simply remove the screws on each side of the hard drive and slide it out of the case.
