Go to www.cbtricks.com go to radios and schematics then go to C look for Cobra look for 148 then from there get the mike wiring diagram and you should be in business.
Your problem is with the mic, probably it's not working anymore or maybe it's been displaced or wiring problem. It's better for you to get it repaired from a mobile repairing shop. You might make mistakes if you don't have enough idea with it. They'll replace the mic and the problem will be fixed. Good luck
Thank you for using FixYa.
sounds like a bad mic....At the 5 pin end u will see a small screw take out that screw and slide the pin cover back and you will see the 5 wires going to the pins my bet 1 or more of those ends are broken all you ned is re sod. them and all will be good .....I buy alot of broken mics and all i need do is fix the wires easy fix .....
I am guessing that if you have tried all of that and it is not working then maybe it just shorted out. Try wriggling it around to see if it goes in and out. If so then there is your problem. Shorts in wiring are tricky to fix but i would suggest just getting a new device.
Check The Microphone Connections In the Plug On Mic wire could be off Or try another Mic. go to www.cbtricks.com look under cobra 89gtl or cobra 1000gtl both have the same board in them.
