Give us some kind of Background, That might be a good start ?What did the PC say was the reason for shutdown.Last error you saw on the screen?I,E.says improper shutdown, windows will now shutdown?
Do you have a windows disk that goes with your system?Have you already tried to reboot?Have you
installed new hardware, new software? If any of the answers was YES? Then lets redo? First if the answer was hardware,Do not power up PC until all questions are answered?Don't plug it in,Unplug it.
No battery power on?If you can undo any hardware additions ,without power! If not leave it and call a tech? Software if this is the reason for shutdown, is the disk still in the pc?No power? SEE it stays like this?Check to see if you would have a small hole, next to the drive normally it would be under it! We are still without power! The reason for this hole under drive is access to drive. What I use to access is the
Drill bit the same size as hole! You should still be without power!!You insert the part of the drill bit that
you put in the drill !! You take it gently by wrapping it with a dry cloth where you touch drill bit?Insert
slowly when you reach the lever for opening th drive .You will feel a small resistance then the lever
will go on in and drive is open? If this is very hard don't push it? Call a tech? When you get it out?
Check disk see if damaged scratched,Put in paper wrapper Name it ,not to use? Will PC start on Battery? If not plug in adapter? Find a windows disk to match the one on PC ?Now put Windows disk in Drive.Power on PC Be ready to shutdown, cut power for un expected? Some times the normal
thing the cmos will do is go to the window for last known good confguration..other is do you want to start windows normally? We don't know what you did to your PC?The best answer after we removed what we thought was the answer. Is think positive, start with last known good,or normally?(Email me) ,
before you take drastic measures?Always have a pencil and paper handy, write down any error the PC says, every thing is important,Your errors will generally tell you the diagnostic?

You need to get a licensed version and reinstall the operating system or maybe try to call acer and asks for the disks.

My acer aspire m1641 lost operation system,

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

How resstore my acer aspire to factory settings?

There should have been a recovery disk created or included when you bought a laptop. Insert disk if you have it and restart your computer with the recovery disk in the CD drive. Make sure all your documents and personal data are backed up. When the computer restarts it should start restoring your computer to the factory default. There will be a wizard to guide you through the process. If there is not a disk, then follow this steps:
1.Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
2.Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.
3.Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load.
4.Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5.Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.
6.Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

hope this helps,Goodluck..

I want to take my acer aspire back to the factory setting but dont have a cd how do i do it

Acer are cheap and they don't provide you with a factory restore disk. You need to make this factory disk yourself. I know how to do this, but it is to much for me to type and here is a really really good reference site for you to visit to get instruction to make your own factory restore disk. After making that restore disc,  pop the disk into your laptop and turn of your laptop and restart and the factory restore program should start, if it should not start then go into your bios menu and have it boot from your Dvd-Rom and save, after full restoration, make sure you turn your boot priority back to where your Os is being installed, exm hard drive.

I need to know how to avtivate the system restore for the computer for a ACER ASPIRE 4520 sincei dont have the disc??

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software
content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps
below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data
will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.
Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.
1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.
3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during POST.
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

I need to reboot my acer aspire m3100 and basically by reboot i mean i want to clear all my files and make it like th computer was brand new and i get to put in the info but i've lost the cd

Hello Ynek,

You can purchase an original system restore disk form here http://www.restoredisks.com/index.asp, it will cost you $34.99.

If you do not want to buy a disk and you have the Windows OS that came with the laptop you can reformat the hard drive put a fresh copy of Windows and download all the system drivers for your model here: http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/AcerDrivers/Aspire%203100.pdf?CFID=1781783&CFTOKEN=73017480

Let me know how it turns out for you.

I need to crash my acer 5100 laptop so i can reboot it to the factory state

no need to crash it, j

ust save your important documents on an external drive (or a USB flash), restart the computer, when it is booting click and hold ALT+F10

this will initiate a restore procedure to original factory state, remember all documents and files will be lost, so back them up externally before you do this
