Question about Car Audio & Video

Subwoofer problems I have a Blaupunkt THb 210A subwoofer. I installed it in my honda. Worked fine. Recently it doesn't produce normal bass sounds and it pulses strongly at 5 second intervals whenever power is applied to it. Even if the music is off, it pulses.

Check your power or ground cable. this normally happens because it is not getting enough power

Disturbance while increasing bass in JBL SPYRO

I have a similar problem. You need to open your subwoofer and check if the subwoofers cone cloth is torn. If it's torn you can recone the subwoofer and it will work fine. There are solutions online to fix the cloth using regular synthetic mix cloth but i don't know if it works. Try removing the cloth to see if it sounds better.

KLH ASW8-100b Sub woofer. I need to know how to hook it up to my surround sound

Some specific model numbers might lead us to specific manuals and specific instructions.

Depends on your source and its amplifer complement. Some can drive a subwoofer directly while others just produce a Line Level subwoofer output for use by a separate amp feeding a subwoofer or self-amplified sub.

The set-up of the source to produce a subwoofer output is totally dependent on its design. Generally, you have to 1) tell it you have a sub, 2) define how bass will be routed or shared among your various speakers accordingto their bass-handling capacities, 3) using test tones, set the relative ludness and crossover settings so you have a uniform sound field.

To find a manual, maybe run it by the manufacturer

Cant get no sound only bass from the subwoofer

Subwoofers are made to only produce bass. They are a adjunct to the main speakers in a system that usually cannot produce good bass. What are you trying to do?

I recently bought two of these subs and the box they were in has cracked at the bottom whats the proper size box and should I get a bigger vented port box because they seem not to be producing the amount...

Ensure the audio system is capable of delivering output power required by the subwoofer, obviously bigger vented box will result in greater air flow and produce better bass, but it should not be to big. you can try for boxes with more depth.
To enhance the bass you can try connecting a capacitor of 470 - 2200 micro farad across (parallel) the speakers. try out with smaller capacity capacitors first

Subwoofer Help

check the amp. the "switches" gain, bass boost...etc they might be over powering your subs and heating them up. if those are fine then you mite want to try your subs on another amp...it migt just be that the subs are easily over heating.

Subwoofer shutdown

I'm having the same issue as pdoug: Sub rumbles in test mode, doesn't produce sound otherwise. Which makes me suspect it's the receiver itself -- the filter (or whatever) it is that should be separating the bass signal and sending it to the sub is not working. At least that's my guess.

Either way... this sucks.

Cerwin Vega V-10S Subwoofer doesn´t sounds good

dear "rai17"

This, to me, is most likely the voice coil inside the driver rubbung against the yolk plate, or possibly the spyder slapping the metal plate underneath it, or the amp-(if it has one?) getting tired. this can occur from poor build quality, or playing the subwoofer too loud. depending on how much it cost you, you may want to get it repaired(voice coil re-alignment or something or new amp). But the way it seems, it is probably the driver itself. subwoofers get looser as they break in. This one may have been over-broken....sorry

I hope this helped clarify what is happening!

Sounds like your original and this sub have bad amps. The amp for the sub is not the same as the amp for the other speakers. The old unit has a dead amp and this new one is on the way out. (Pulling too much current on high bass)
