Just got it and it doesnt seem to be charging. When its taken off power nothing happens
Had the same problem, took the camera back to the shop. Was mortified when the assistant opened the battery slot, took the battery out, turned it round and put it back in again. And it worked. Make sure the battery isn't the wrong way round (only camera I've ever had where it was even POSSIBLE to put the battery in the wrong way round). Orange label on the battery needs to be next to the orange 'release lever' on the slot.

get another battery off of ebay charge the battery and test the camera. also if you have a doc does it turn on when you insert it on the bay?
if so most likly you just have a bad battery.

I had the same problem. I had to buy a new charger...You could borrow someone else's battery and test yours..then you would know whether your problem is the battery or the charger. Also, just a thought The outlet you are plugging the charger into-is it a GFI plugin with a little red button on it? if so is the little red button pushed in?
