Asante Networks, Inc. 2223 Oakland Road, San Jose, CA 95131 USA Phone 408.435.8388 · Website www.asante.com Asante Networks, Inc. 2223 Oakland Road, San Jose, CA 95131 USA · Phone 408.435.8388 · Website www.asante.com i assume you have tried to get into the router settings, if not, this is how, Make sure you typed in the address correctly. (Default: 192.168.123.254) Add http:// in front of the address. Try http://192.168.123.254:88. Make sure the link light on the front panel is on for the port you are plugged into. (If it is not, you have a bad cable, wrong type of cable, have not seated the cable well, or have a problem with your computer's ethernet adapter card.) Make sure the router is plugged in and on. Make sure your computer is set to DHCP (Mac) or Obtain IP address automatically (PC) in the Network control panel. If you can configure the router and the router can receive a proper response and IP assignment from your ISP, then you are connected to the Internet. If you are unable to browse or other such operations it is almost always because your DNS (Domain Name Server) setup is incorrect. Check both in the client computer IP setup as well as the router setup to make sure that your Domain Name Server is one that can be reached and pinged. if you need to reset the router because you've had no response, reset the router by unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, then re-plugging it. Restart your computer. If you still are unable to get on the net, then either your isp is at fault, so check with them for a network status, or the router may be faulty.

My phone number is 231-609-6011

Some Magic Jack units do not reset themselves when your router loses the upstream connection (even momentarily). In that case, try unplugging the Magic Jack and then reconnecting it to the USB port.

If that doesn't help, check your firewall settings (both on the computer and the router). You may need to force the firewall to allow the Magic Jack to communicate with the wide-area network. (This could involve finding the MAC address of the Magic Jack. Then set the MAC address to a specific IP address in the router or set Port Forwarding in the router administrative pages. See http://zaxa.ca/magicjack-plus-not-working-plugged-directly-in-the-router-solved-english for some specifics.)

Please add a comment with your router make and model for specific information on accessing these settings pages.

I hope this helps.

(my ISP has been having upstream problems since early November. We have to reset some devices daily to correct the "lost network connection" issue due to the down time.)

How do I re-connect lost wireless connection?

This question is not clear. Does it mean lost of the SSID Broadcast or Network name in your laptop /portable device or lost of the frequency transmission by the router??

If it is lost of SSID or Network display:
1. Check with your laptop or ipad or phone etc, if the wireless is ON.
2. If it is ON check if the closest or highest frequency wireless is yours SSID name or not.
3. If you have a name or SSID display which is yours, connect to it. It will ask for secured password which you would probably know.

If the frequency transmission is lost from the router:

1. Turn ON and OFF the router and try to reconnect: sometime it works.
2. Check the cable which connect the router and the telephone port: sometime humidity in the room make the cable connecting end rusted, if you notice it change the cable.
3. Worst case you have to reset the router: For this you need another question???

Hope it helps

Connection problems

Reconnect the computers as you had setup originally when everything worked.

Unplug the modem and the router. Wait about 30 secs.

Plug the modem in. Wait about 30 secs.

Plug the router in.

See if you can gain access to the internet. If not, do Start|Run|Cmd

At the window, type ipconfig, and reply back what it says.

If it works, please let me know as well, and don't forget to rate my answer.

Pc works via ethernet cable but wireless laptop cannot see the network

I think you have lost your PPPOE internet connection. Reestablish the connection. If this is not the problem, click your wireless connection on the taskbar and search for your wireless device and reconnect. BPCS

Lost wireless connection WRT54G

I have had similar problems with my home wireless connections for years, across several different brands of routers. By far the quickest solution that I've found is to simply reboot the router; either using the command interface from a computer connected via ethernet; or by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and reconnecting the power.
