Question about Frigidaire GLTF2940E Gallery 3.5 Cu. Ft. King Size Front Loading Washer
The timer know has broken for the second time. Before I had it replaced but the cost of the service was almost enough to replace the washer. Is there some trick to replacing this knob that would prevent me from doing it and if not what tools will I need? Also, is there anything I need to be especially aware of when I start?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

On my Amana LW8303W2, I had to hold the back of the know assembly to prevent the metal post from moving and rotate the knob itself counter clockwise until it came off. This may take longer than expected due to the post rotating which is difficult to detect.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Washer/dryer combo
A part called a (wig-wag) its a part that consists of two selonoids, one is bad. It switches the transmission from the wash cycle to the spin cycle,at the same time it opens the pump for draining.
hope this is helpful

needlenose pliers grabbing the center shaft (white plastic around a brass center around a screw), turned counterclockwise will free the remainder of the broken knob and allow you to remove it and then screw on the new part.

SOURCE: Removal of the timer knob.
you have two different knobs to replace?..is it the water level knob or the timer knob?
if its the timer knob you need to remove, look underneath the timer and you will find a black plastic pin depressed at the middle. pull it slowly for about 1/4 of an inch.
then you can remove the knob in the front of the timer switch.
in putting it back, install the knob first in the timer and then depressed that black plastic pin to lock the knob.
be carefull not to pull the plastic pin all the way out. it would be very hard to put it back in.
