I want to restore my panasonic cf 74 to original factory

The best way to "Factory" Restore your Panasonic
Toughbook CF74 is to use the original recovery
disk(s) that came with the unit when new.

If you can't find them, you can order them from
Panasonic at the following website:

http://business.panasonic.com/support-computerstablets-dvdrequests

Here is what they say:
Recovery DVDs are available by mail for select Toughbook® products. Windows® XP back up service is only available to customers who purchased Panasonic computers with XP downgrade rights. Windows XP Backup Image and Windows 7 Recovery DVDs restore a PC to its original factory image. The standard Panasonic factory image includes the Windows operating system and all drivers/applications originally installed by Panasonic.

Good Luck!

I have a packard bell imedia mc 1538 and need to resore to factory settings, have tried using F10 key with no result just goes to start up. The master cd just does a system restore and not the factory...

If the file that holds the factory settings is gone then there is no way to restore the factory settings back. You can however reinstall windows if you got a hold of a windows disc in the version you want. You can use the windows key on the computer somewhere to activate the windows. I would suggest doing a system restore the the last restore point and removing any unwanted things from there.

That option is the built in Windows restore, Not the system recovery that you need.
You should of been given either a windows disc or recovery/factory restore disc with your computer. OR it will have asked you to make a recovery disc when you first used your computer.

If you have none of these you will need to buy one. Recovery discs are about £15.
You may also wish to get a copy of windows to start from a fresh instalation

I have an old Presario 1700 running windows 2000 professional. It hasn't been used in at least 3 yrs. My daughter loaded a password, and now can't remember it. We don't have the restore disc anymore...

If you can not remember the windows password, the the only way to get into the the system is to reinstall windows 2000, you may find a retail versions at a software of computer store, or even a copy from a friend that no longer uses this version, The setup program ask you 1. if you want to do fresh install or just 2. restore system files saving you current configuration files and keeping the system intact choose this the latter option and all files on the system will still be there but windows files will be freshed allowing you to choose a new passord .

Make new disks from the 60G HD before replacing it. If there is no restore partition then you will need to clone your old drive.

The quick restore dosen`t work

What operating system you are using before installing windows xp. If it is windows 98, Your restore cd will restore windows 98. if you want to restore to factory settings pls boot from the restore cd and format the harddisk. Becareful, this will erase your entire data on the harddisk which cannot be recover. If you are using licenced (not pirated) windows xp boot from it and reinstall windows xp so that you can run the os smoothly. But in either case becarefull when you are formating, it will destroy entire data and you may endup in soup. feel free to revert back for further quiries
