Question about Behringer B212D Powered Speaker (550 Watts, 1x12 in.)

1 Answer

Why did my Behringer b212d horn stop working.

I opened the speaker, when I put the woofer's wires onto the horn it makes sound, but when I put the horn's wires onto the woofer it makes no sound. Did I blow the crossover or what?

SOURCE: I have a Behringer PMP6000 Board. It is connected

Since all your speakers are passive, indeed there is a problem like what you describe. This is because with the same amount of signal from the board's speakers outputs, the 2520 can't play the same amount of audio with the PASW18. I don't know what other equipment is available (if any) so let me give you some suggestions.
1. Connect in parallel the 2520s at one of the board's output and do the same with the PASW18 at the other channel output. Doing this you will be able to handle one channel (e.g. left) for the main speakers level and the other channel (right) for the sub speakers level. No stereo playback, so set all the inputs to mono.
2. Use another separate amplifier to drive the subs. You have to provide signal to the amp from any LINE LEVEL OUTPUT from the board (using mono is a very good idea since low frequencies have no stereo separation and in this case you could use a single channel amplifier for both subs, parallel connection)

If there is available more equipment post me back in details to give you guide lines.
In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed (connection diagram e.t.c.), don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.

Thanks and regards

SOURCE: behringer b415 horn stop working how and where i

First thing is to test the horn as the crossover circuit may be the problem. If you need the part(s) for the crossover you can get them via DIgiKey.com, however repalcing the horn driver you may have to go through FullCompass.com and if the part has to come from Behringer it takes months.

My Behringer pmp2000 is now only giving an output through the tweeter horns of my speakers so the sound is very tinny. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Your woofers are probably blown. To check plug a 1/4 inch or speakon into the speaker cabinet with the two bare wires exposed on the opposite end and touch with a 9volt flat battery if the driver doesn't move ir sound it's blown

Bass went out

The 15 inch woofer is blown and you are hearing only the tweeter horn. I would definitely check that speaker on something else though, because the amps inside will also blow fairly easy, and you can't get parts for these. I would salvage what you can and move on. If both speakers work alone, check connections and amp. If you find that the 15 does work, then make an unpowered monitor. Behringer does not give any referencing of any parts. They have all special part numbers that you can't crossreference to find replacements. This is a marketing strategy to eliminate others from repairing, so you will buy another one. They think they would sell more but it just turns musicians away from their junk. The only piece of behringer equipment worth using is the FCB1010 controller and nothing else.

Hello,

Eurolive Active speakers from Behringer suffers of bad power supply/Amp design, if you open up the back of your speaker you will probably find that the AC connector has a burnt or loose connection as well as a black spot, if not, check the power supply/power amp coils for cracked connections, let me know for improve help.

12" woofer not working

I bought a 3rd B212D unit that powers on, has white noise, no music. I took the 8 screws off and discovered that the solder connection at the woofer had broken off. I surmise that either the unit was dropped or the speaker wire had gotten hot over the years. Since the amp had an open output from the break, the high output burned up as I heard a pop when I turned the volume up. . If your volume wasn't maxed out, you could check the wiring and make sure it is connected & save yourself some change!!!

Sound cutting out after about one hour of use

You are PROBABLY driving it too hard and the thermal cutout is activating. This is only a 12 inch speaker and should comfortably fill a 20 foot square room. If *********** could not stay in such a room, you are playing it too loud. Try reducing the volume by 3 DB and see how long it stays on. The specification on MOST of these powered speakers and speakers and amps in general are victims of "specsmanship"... that is false advertising to make sales. This size speaker is NOT applicable to outside venues for the most part. You could also try putting a fan blowing on the heatsink to keep it cooler as that might help.

What is the part number for component D3 on a Behringer B212D powered speaker circuit board? It burnt up and I can not read it.

D3 is shown as a 1N4148 small signal diode... I hate to say it, but if that diode blew you have MAJOR damage to other part(s). The minimum, with D3 fried, is that C10 is shorted causing the problem. If that C10 is not shorted, then high voltage must have been applied to the ring from that input jack frying R5 (1K), R6 (12k), C7 (1 nf )and IC1 which is a 4580 op amp. By the way C10 is a 47 pf cap that is likely surface mounted and most likelly shorted..

B212D powered speakers internal amps damaged by power surge in our home. Can they be replaced with new amps and what would cost be. johnssale@gmail.com

Cost by replacing the amps would NOT be cost effective.

In looking at the schematic, assuming there was a voltage surge on input power, possibly the diodes and capacitors in the power supply are damaged if the fuse blew and was replaced.

If the speakers were powered by a different receptacle than the source feeding the audio to these was, ground bounce may have destroyed the first input stage.

You need to give us current symptoms so we can direct replacement of bad components.

Amps in my B212D powered speakers were damaged by power surge in our house. Can I have new ones sent to me and I will remove the old ones and replace with the new. What would the cost be in Canadian...

The parts cost I suspect would be about 1/2 of the new cost of the units... certainly by the time you add shipping cost... Find a competent repair shop.

To get the parts you would need to first call Behringer 1-425-672-0816 to get a part number and an incident number, then deal with FullCompass which distributes the Behringer parts.
