My Lexmark 7170 3-in-1 printer has an error message "left cartridge incorrect".

Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier and please try to print a printer self test.

Make Sure you have Inserted the Right Cartridges in the Right Place!

Good Luck!

Make sure you are inserting the correct versions of cartridges for your model. Try to re-seat the cartridges by removing and re-inserting the cartridges in the carrier. The black cartridge goes in the left carrier while the color goes in the right. Also, make sure you are using genuine Lexmark cartridges.

What are proceedures for replacing print cartridges for Lexmark X2600 ink jet printer?

Perhaps the Lexmark X2600 User's Guide will be able to help you. To download it, click on this link: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/2600/v7649663_en.pdf. Scroll to Removing used print cartridges, Page 45, for instructions on how to replace print cartridges.

In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Hope this helps.

F4280 doesn't print; cartridgers stuck on right

Turn the power off. Open the door. There should be a thin clear plastic strip with black tick marks on it that runs across in front of the metal bar that the print carriage rides on. Make sure that it is still there and hasn't been pulled off it's moorings on either end. This is how the printer keeps track of where the carriage is at any given time.

Hood a finger over the edge of the print carriage and gently pull it out of its home position. You may need to slightly lift the front edge of the carriage and move it near the center of its range of motion.

Close the door and turn on the printer.

Clear Carrier Jam + Right Cartridge Incorrect

    aussie_jay09,

If your printer is brand new, just out of the box, than repack the printer back in the box and march it right back to where you purchased it from. Your printer is classed under manufacturer criteria as DOA, which means dead on arrival. It is nothing you are doing, the printer is simply faulty and needs to be returned to your supplier for exchange. It happens sometimes and I am sorry you are on the receiving end.

To be more technical about it, from what you are saying it sounds as though you have a faulty print mechinism. This is the central core part of the printer and I have seen this issue on many occasions.

Carrier jam on dell 924 printer??

I was able to fix this issue on my all-in-one 944 printer. What happened was that one of the ink cartridge lids had popped open. The hard part was that the carrier was stuck on the far left side, and I wasn't able to pull it over for easer access. However, I was able to fit a finger in and push the cartridge back down. Then when I turned the printer back on the error went away.

    Hope this helps

Have you run print head alignment? or To clean the cartridge carrier contacts on the printer, do the following: 1. Power off the printer and remove it from the mains supply. 2. Open the printer lid so that you have access to the cartridges. 3. Pull gently on the ribbon cable connected to the carrier until the carrier is accessible. 4. Remove the cartridges. 5.
