Question about Kenmore 73503 Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Stange noise The refrigerator "turns on' briefly then off, like it was trying to cool, but does not. The tempersture in the refrigereator and freezer seems ok, but I am afraid the motor of some other part is being stressed. It is on for two or three seconds than turns off with a clunk.

It may be a circulation fan jamming with ice or a condensor fan that is semi seized. if the unit is cooling properly then it probably wont be the compressor. circ fan inside fridge, cond fan usually outside.

Refrigerator won't cool below 18c.

Makes no sense to me as this refrigerator only has one compressor/evaporator. The freezer should also cool the refrigerator section. Try defrosting the freezer - perhaps ice has somehow blocked any airflow to the refrigerator section.

Not cooling or freezing

Hi Mick, this is AP.

I understand you are experiencing a no cool situation in your Frigidaire refrigerator. On your model, FRS26R4A, specifically the first thing to check it to make sure the refrigerator and freezer controls are not set to "0", turning the Freezer and Fresh Food Controls to "0" turns off the compressor and prevents your refrigerator from cooling, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb and other electrical components. If you hear the noise coming from the freezer compartment it could be something blocking the evaporator fan which would cause warm temps in the fresh food and freezer section. If the noise is coming from behind the appliance it could be something in the condenser fan or the compressor may be locked up. I would definitely recommend contacting an authorized technician to repair your appliance if you find the temperature controls are not the cause of your high temperatures in the refrigerator. I hope this information helps.

Thanks,

Frigidaire FRS23H5AS refrigerator - freezer not cold

Humming noise would be your compressor going bad. The noise from the fan is because they are over working to try and keep everything cool
