The faceplate display on my JVC stereo has a lot of dust inside it. Can I disassemble the faceplate and clean the inside? Everything works great, it is just more of an irritant!!

Yes, you can take the faceplate apart and use air pressure or a photo lens brush to remove the dust. You probably won't get all of it off as the dust is attracted to that area due to the static build up. You can try using an antistatic spray on the lens to try to dampen down the issue longer.

If your unit is a "flip face" design then I would suspect that the flat ribbon cable that goes between the flip face and the main board has lost at least one of the leads and that the cable needs to be replaced. Try Partstore.com for a replacement. Good luck.

JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

JVS UX S59, every time original disc inserted readsawhile and comes up saying no disc. please help, also adio not working. Everything was working fine, stereo has not been moved or dropped. Thanks Andy

the main problem with this is the laser .
the category 1 lasers are very sensitive .
the solution is to make sure your cd's are clean , not scratched and the final thing to do is clean the lenses of your JVC S59 make sure to keep this unit in a dust free enviroment .

I have a kenwood kdc-419 car stereo

Use a pencil eraser and try to clean the contacts on the back of the faceplate, if that fails it may have a cold solder joint on the inside of the face plate. May need replacement.

I cant get the jvc radio to turn on time will display when pushed and it will take cd's and eject them

What model have you got/

It's 2 Possibilities of faults.

Either a diode leading to the faceplate connector has gone open circuit (common in JVC)

Your ignition supply is down (or the voltage regulator is not outputting the correct voltage to turn on)

I'm very sure it is the diode problem. I used to work for a national car stereo repair company, so if you need any help give me a call.

Display is out

is it detachable face?? do you detach it a lot? it could be the connection between the faceplate and the stereo. gently push against the faceplate and see if it flashes back on?? BE GENTLE!!! maybe a slight wiggle while you push. if it flashes on at all you should try to have it serviced or replace it altogether. Good luck.
