Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook
I have had a few problems with my Insprion since I got it a few years ago, but they've all been managable. This time, I am not sure what is going on. I had my computer on, it was working fine, and then I decided to put it on hibernate and leave it for a few minutes. When I tried to start it up, it froze on the Dell startup screen - the very first screen you see when it turns on; where it tells you to press F2 to enter setup and F12 to enter the Bootup menu. The red status bar gets about halfway and then stops. I left it like that for about an hour and still no change. I let it sit for a few more hours, but got the same thing when I tried it again. I've tried to press F2 and F12 but all it does is says "Entering Setup..." and then stays frozen.
I'd really REALLY like to see what I can do without wiping my hard drive or doing something that would wipe all my data on my laptop...any suggestions??
Thanks for your help!
Hey, this is not a problem of "windows" or something. it is a hardware failure most probably. Sorry to say that you can do nothing but tuurn it off (hold the power button till it turns off) and let it cool down for a few minutes then restart it. if it still doesn't work, contact DELL support...
