How can I reset the error code on a Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000FE1

Few days ago, my washer motor stops. It is not spinning ( neither in the "wash" part of the cycle nor in the "Spin only" part ) The error code shown ( by pressing Start/Pause and Cancel buttons ) is E57. I have gone through the testing indicated in the Service Manual. Motor is spinning freely, drum(tub) too. I have checked the resistance values of the winding, they are OK. Before to go any further with the troubleshooting,I would like to reset the error code to see if everything get back in order ( my guess is that the washer was overloaded and I have a drop in the voltage at the same time, thus producing a momentary high current in the motor ). To enter the Diagnostic Mode, I am following the Service Manual indications : Step 1 Turn the Program Knob to the start position, Spin Only. Step 2 Press Start/Pause to start the cycle and save it. Step 3 Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs. Step 4 Press Cancel again to turn on the LEDs. Step 5 Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Options and Start/Pause buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. Well, when getting to step 5, as pressing and holding the Options and Start/Pause buttons, nothing happened. The LEDs wont start chasing. I am wondering if i am using the right sequence to enter the Diagnostic Mode. For instance, why does Step 1 says : turn the Program Knob to the Start Position, Spin only, when on my washer, there is no Start Position, just a Spin Only position for the knob ???? Any idea what am I doing wrong ? Thanks by advance for your help. Jean-Christophe

    I finally
did manage to enter the diagnostic mode, but only to confirm that the motor
    control board was bad.

    Anyway, I
fill more confident to change the speed control board now that I can see that
the error is coming back anytime the motor will try to start.

    In oder to
achieve getting into Diagnostic Mode here is what I have done :

    1/ Unplug
    power cord

Disconnect from the main control board the terminal with the 5 smalls wires
connecting the main control board ( in the front panel ) to the motor control board
( located near the motor in the back )

    2/ Replug
power cord, start any cycle, cancel it, read error code ( by holding
Start/Pause and Cancel ). I now have a E50 code in state of my E57 code. E50 is
for communication problem, which is true as I have interrumpted communication
    bertween the two board.

    3/ Unplug
power cord. Reconnect wires betwwen the two boards.

    4/ Replug
power cord. Now, I have again gone through the steps to enter the Diagnostic
mode, as stated in the Washer Tech Data Sheet ( I found it inside the washer,
once removed the top panel ), and this time it worked !!!

    5/ I have
then erase the last error code ( E50) following the instructions of the Washer
    Tech Data Sheet.

    6/ Unpluged
and Repluged power cord, check error code again : E00 : everything back to normal.

    7/ Again I have
entered the Diagnostic Mode and this time I have tried each of the elements of the
washer one by one as stated in the procedure of the test, and when it came to step
6 ( washer will fill and tumble ), the washer beeped, leds flashed, and the E57
code showed again. Diagnostic confirmed for a bad motor control board.

My ATF6000ES Front Loading washer runs on any cycle for about 5 minutes then stops, and the display resets to the start and nothing more happens. Got an E48 code and ran "test 7" and the tub did not

Hello Nick Jensen, thanks for your post!
From what you have described your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code of "E48" and you have changed the control board with the problem continuing to be present. An "E48" error code could be a possible problem with your door lock assembly, motor control board, or control panel. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are receiving multiple error codes on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# FAHE4044MW. I see that the error codes showing are "E", "PA", "AU", "U5", and "5E". I suggest resetting your washer, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When you restore power, start any cycle on your washer. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

I have a Frigidaire Affinity front load washer Model ATF7000ES0 and am getting error code E38

Hi Scott Brown: Typically an error code E38 could mean a few things:

· First see if the air trap is clogged. If it is, that is probably the most likely issue.

· If it is not clogged, it could either be the main control board, the water valve assembly or the pressure sensor switch.

· To make sure it is not a false error code, reset the power to the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about 30 seconds.

If the error code continues to display, I would strongly recommend contacting a professional to make the necessary repairs. Unfortunately, most electronic parts cannot be returned so it is always a good idea to get the appropriate diagnosis prior to making any unnecessary part replacements.

Frigidaire E57

Hello Daniel Huntley - Typically error code E59 indicates that that washer is not detecting a tacho signal for about three seconds. Contact a professional to move forward accurately. Certified technicia will need to remove the belt from the motor, spin the motor pulley, diagnose the speed control board and etc.

Here are the symptoms on the ; 1>it's plug up and the power is fine 2> there is no errors on the panel 3> control operate fine. 4> close the door, set the controls, press start, No spinning. 5> when you press start you hear a buzzing sound for about 5 seconds, then nothing... Is it over for the dryer I bought 3 years with out extended warranty, or is the a simple fix? Thanks, Rob...

Stops running after it fills and rotates a few time. Then it eventually shuts off. Spin only works.

I would say it could be several things. Not having an error code may rule part of them out. It sound like it could be the main control, the motor control or the motor itself. Since there is no error code I would lean towards the main control. But lots of electrical testing would be required to confirm this.

Frigidare front loader washer error message 20

If you open the top of the washer , there is a "tech" sheet in there to tell you how to reset the error codes.

My washer started this. Then stopped spinning. Now it will not even wash a load. It stops mid-cycle. The ER 20 means that something is not draining right. We checked all of the tubes leading to the pump. Nothing was clogged. The technition seems to think it is a motor controller error.
