Hi, There is two chance for theis problem. 1) there is missing voltage to the back light inverter boadr or 2) the back light inverer is faulty. Check the power supply volatge to the back light inverter board. Normally its 24v for all lcd back light inverters. If the power supply is ok then you have to replace the back light inverter board.
You can check is there is any picture on the lcd screen by the help of a tourch . light the tourch near to the lcd screen and wach the screen from different angel while the PC is in ON position.. in some angle you can see the shadow of picture if every thing else working fine except back light.
If so there is powersupply missing or back light iverter is faulty. You have to replace the back light inverter board with a new on because there is no repair possible with the board. Also the spares will very difficut to get. Ajin
make sure you dont have firmware version 3.0 if you do you need to upgrade it version 3.0 broke alot of games but luckily a few days later 3.01 came out to fix this. I would just goto system update and see if there is a new version available and install that before you start diggin to much into this problem.
You need to change the resolution output on your PS3 to match the capabilities of your TV. If your TV is not HD you can't leave the PS3's video output on HD. SCART is for european television connections. Have you tried using component cables? Have you tried changing your tv's source to Video 1 or Component 1 or HDMI or anything that might work? Good luck!!
You should get a good surge protector. Sometimes some areas have a spike in the power. That will cause interference in the TV signal coming from your PS 3. Try out different surge protectors that should solve your problem.
