Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF60WE610 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

My 60" Sony Grand Wega LCD RearProjection is taking a long time to warm up?

I just changed the lamp... Picture is as good as new!!! I really love this TV. For some reason, it is taking very long to warm up before I get amazing picture quality. It starts of almost blurry with weird lines and it occasionally starts to picture skip like the old cabinet TVs used to do (where you had adjusted the vertical knob). I'm totally dating myself here ;^) Any suggestions? It is a drive issue or should I just call in a technician? Thank you!

SOURCE: Sony grand wega started turning on and off continuously

The usual problem is that the lamp needs to be replaced. However, there is no guaranty that lamp replacement will correct the problem.

no, it is not the lamp, the DIC 2 board is bad.in this case it is best to have a sony certified technician come out to give you an estimate. the board is expensive and the lvds cables attached to it are verrrry
fragile and expensive also.

most likely, buy you a lamp and install it yourself, the owners manual tells you how to do this.

Where is the lamp located to replace lamp on this T.V.? Sony Wega 60" LCD MODEL#KF-60WE610

The lamp is located behind the grapy strip in the front of the tv. Look behind the lowere right and left corners and take out the screws, take of the gray faceplate, and the bulb comes out in a "unit" style. take out the old and plug in he new!

The picture goes off, the power/standby light

Sony KDF-60XS955 picture goes and power/standby light light flashes

Hi,

Most likely you have bulb failure. First step in troubleshooting is "Change the Lamp or Bulb". Lightning, power line bumps and collisions with vacuum cleaners can all shorten lamp life. Rough handling in shipment can also happen without your knowledge.

+90% of all Sony LCD Rear Projector "No Picture or Intermittent Picture" faults are related to bulb failure.

If new lamp does not improve the situation, then hands-on troubleshooting by someone that has parts and knows how the unit works is the only practical remedy.

I have a 40 but i was having the same problem. It turned out to be my lamp. I got a brand new lamp from Projector Lamp Services (relampit.com) and my tv works fine now. Im pretty sure that the 40 and the 60 take the same lamp. You might want to give them a call.
