Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, have you tried closer to the base? Additionally, a few ideas to consider, explore or try:

  • ensure that they are not in "Intercom" mode;
  • relocating the base unit. With 5.8 GHz operation and such a short/stubby antenna, it is prone to RF (radio frequency) and electrical interference. These interference could be brought about by Wireless Routers, computers, electronic ballasts of lamps, lamp dimmers and others of the same nature;
  • depending on the versions, the operating channel could be changed. It is possible that somewhere near is an identical system causing mix up;
  • if you are with regular telephone lines, consider having the lines checked by your phone provider;
  • if your telephone system is a package together with your cable TV and Internet, you may want to have your cable/Internet provider check/replace your modem/router/splitter.
Check and perform preliminary visual or necessary inspection. Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    I had exact same problem. I tried changing battery but it did not work. Finally, i removed the power and phone line to the base and reconnected after 5 minutes and all the handsets started working.

If the three phones that don't work are the remote phones and not the base station then the transmitter in the base station has failed, I had a similiar Vtech phone system and this happened to mine, it was only 2 years old.

How to change number of rings on VTect cordless CS6114-11

The CS6114-11 isn't an answering machine. It will ring until you answer, an answering machine or voicemail system picks up, or the caller hangs up.

To change the ring count on your answering machine, consult its documentation. If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and identify the answering machine or voicemail system.

Read your manual on how to choose more rings before your answering machine picks up...usually 7 is the most you can set it for.

My Nokia 701 cant make outgoing calls. Whenever I try to call someone it disconnects before it even rings and displays "No Answer"

If its a case where you can receive calls and texts, and send texts no prob but you cant call out then its a caller-id problem with your mobile service provider. Ring up the support team and have them reset your caller-id on their end. Once done, power cycle the phone and the phone shoild call outbound no problem.

The switch that the handpiece activates is not working. Could be optical, magnetic or physical. It may need cleaning, adjusting or a wire connection repaired. Also check the curly cord and its connections between the handpiece and telephone.

Try unplugging all sets and call in. Do you still have a faxlike tone, like from an ALARM system or something else down the street?

Caller ID

Since it appears by default, I'm guessing that the phone is not ringing. It has to ring to display CID. You need to make sure that it is part of an ICD group with Immediate ring.

INCOMING CALLS

Not sure it this is a solution for ALL your problems, but...

I had a similar issue: Phone rings, caller ID info displays then seems to hesitate, then displays only "INCOMING CALL."

The issue seemed to be caused by interference with other devices on the same line (in my case, an alarm system).

Tech support had me change a setting on my TRU9466 base unit (this is one of the PowerMax 5.8ghz models). This is how we did it step-by-step on the base unit:

MENU
GLOBAL SETUP
IN-USE LINE SETUP
select LINE 1
switch to TYPE B

This seems to have solved the Caller ID "interference" issue -- my Caller ID now displays as it should. The Tech Support person suggested trying that TYPE A/TYPE B setting on "OFF" if TYPE B didn't solve the problem, but thankfully, it did.

Now Cheryl, it sounds like your issue is more involved than this -- I didn't have any connection problems -- but perhaps they're related -- you might try my solution.
