Question about Dyna-Glo (PPH16-LP) Utility Heater

1 Answer

I have a dyna glo propane heater that keeps going out. I think its related to the oxygen sensor.

There is plenty of propane and all connections are good. New regulator and parts.

Bypass the sensor with A jumper wire to test the sensor If it lites properly the sensor is bad.The sensor is probably in the bottom.

These thermocouples rarely go bad. The oxygen sensing pilot will get dust in it and shut down making you think you have a bad thermocouple.

I'm sure you can, contact the manufacturer and ask if they have a natural gas jet or orfice for your model heater, these are usually very easy to replace.

Dyna-Glo natural gas space heater to propane gas.

Yes it is possible and a good idea. You need to have a regulator installed to reduce the pressure to the heater and this is a simple procedure. Contact your local Propane distributor and they will probably do this free to get your business.

You can make your own filters out of felt and I have also found that with some minor modifications most of the parts from Mr. Heater will work with Dyna Glo. I have a 170btu kerosene heater and just installed an ignition, a high limit control and a flame sensor from Mr. Heater and it works like new.
