You cant stop it, the fan is going bad, it isnt verry expencive, you should be able to order from there website, i wouldnt hold off verry long, if it is going out, it isnt cooling your reciver correctily, and could cause other damage

I have the f61 code on a panasonic surround sound. should both fans spin on power up?

Pretty sure both fans should turn. If the unit senses the fan not turning, it will shut down as you are describing. Try taking the label off of the fan so you can see the bearing, and put a couple drops of oil in there. This sometimes get them to turn freely again.

Repeated F61 fault code on Panasonic Home cinema system Model: SC-HT990 Is it the fan in the sub woofer?

Hello

F 61 error means the failure of FAN
most probably dust in the fan made it to stop working so clean the dust and connect the fan to an external supply of 12v(using red and black wire) for 5 minutes and reconnect it to the unit otherwise replace the fan with new one.
Surely this will solve the problem.

Kind regards
Andrea

NOISEY FAN

You may need a new fan, but you can try cleaning the fan. Remove fan from player. use a few drops of WD-40 or another similar lubricant, the fans label may need to be removed. Note Panasonic fans must be rotating or f61 code will appear. Hope this helps.

Panasonic sa ht990 fault 61

This a memory problem ,try to look for the reset button and press it . If you can't find the reset button then the other option is unplug the unit for 24 hours the purpose is to dessipate or drain the charged current .

Hope it may help you;

SC-BT 100 Error Code f61

Had the same problem. Found that the code refers to the cooling fan. Could be that the fan is dusty or not running when the system starts up. I removed the fan with the two screws and reseated the plug. Make certain that the short, black wire (that seems to go to nothing) is securing the plug to the board.
