Question about Dell Ethernet Card Network Adapter
I have a Dell XPS 420. I need to know what kind of network card to buy. Is there a recommended card to buy? The card I pulled out says Netgear on it. I am not sure what info you need to answer correctly.
You can buy any network card and install it to your computer. All you need to figure out is what type you want to get,
PCI card or USB
Wired or Wireless

Any ethernet card will work fine. Just be sure it's the fit's the correct slot. You probably have a "white" slot which is a pci slot. If it's a longer "black" slot then it's isa. More than likely it came from a pci slot. Before you buy one, confirm the type of slot. In additon, before installing it go to control panel and system settings, hardware, device manager and remove the old one by right clicking it and select delete or remove. Shut down the computer follow instructions for new card.
Probably will have to install the drivers first then shut down and install the new card. Good Luck.
