That's one of the first things that came to mind as I was reading through your post; that the system was air-bound. Are there bleeder valves on the system?

this is a job best left to the diesel experts. While you may be able to get it off the engine the settings are critical for engine life. If you get them wrong you will burn holes in the pistons or over rev the engine causing destruction. Diesel pump calibration is done on a bench and each plunger is set to produce the right amount of fuel and the governor is set to cut the fuel at a predetermined rpm setting ( flight idle)
Hello I have a 763 highflow bobcat all gauges read good I lock down the bar and go and it locks up about like the park brake is on but its off I can 10 to 15 foot and bam it locks up if someone has a idea id sure try whatever thanks.
It could easily be an electrical issue, or not. Get a spark tester (hooks up to the spark plug). Pep boys, Autozone, and Napa all sell them for less than $10. Check for spark when the mower has quit. If no spark, most likely need to replace the ignition module. Also check the flywheel key, if it is has been sheared or even knicked, the engine will run hot. If you still have spark when engine has failed, check the vent on the gas cap. A clogged vent will cause a vacuum to form in the tank and stall the engine. Good luck!
I think the exhaust on that east-west mounted engine is on the rear\ back of the engine. No good news. Have to raise the cab and go through that way with a long extension, I use 1 or 2 36'' extensions with an impact swivel socket. Spray WD-40 on them before hand and let soak for a good while. After you break them loose, use a long magnet to catch\ hold them coming off. Going on you can use some regular paper INSIDE the socket to hold the nut firmly in the socket. It's kinda like shooting pool. Good luck
