Question about Viking 24 in. Professional Series VUD141 (Ultra-Premium) Built-in Dishwasher

Viking VUD141 advances through the cycles but won't drain water

My dishwasher advances through the cycles and the dial moves, but leaves a LOT of water at the end. (and the dishes are not rinsed, they have a film on them,) If I physically move the dial (turn it to just on where it activates the draining), I can eventually get the water to drain out. (I have to do this several times to get rid of all the water.) As far as I know, there are no blockages in the lines or I assume it wouldn't drain at all.

Thank you...I think it must have been a partial blockage. I ran it multiple times and manually advanced it to drain until it finally resolved itself. It is now running fine and draining completely.

My dish washer always has a lot of water in the bottom at the end of the cycles and doesn't seem to rinse my dishes, they always have detergent still on them!

The unit should be installed with a high loop in the drain line at the rear of the unit. If this is not in place it can cause the drain water to run back into the unit. If there is a partial blockage it could result in incomplete drain. Try disconnecting the drain line below the sink and run the unit to drain into a bucket see how it drains. would be a sign as to how free your drain line is.

It could also have defective drain pump

Water isn't flowing in through the spinners in the dishwasher.

Look at the end of the wash and no water in the bottom, it is OK. The water is pumped out through the pump. Hence you would have found the water mid way. Pump will start after the wash cycle is fully finished it's function or as per the float level!

You probably have a leak, in the pump housing area below the unit, which is causing the drain pump to run continuously.

Viking Dishwasher Timer Dial not advancing

The timer has given it up.  The motor has probably stopped working or the gears are jammed.  You'll need to obtain and change the timer.  Generally, there are face mounted screws that may or may not be behind some covers.  Remove them to get to the panel that holds the timer.
