Question about Reddy Heater-30-55,000 BTU Variable

1 Answer

Ignition I have a reddy heater 35. When I plug it in the fan comes on, fuel dispenses, but then it trips the reset button. Why? When I removed the cover and repeated, I didn't see a spark at the spark plug but then again I don't know if it's supposed to be visible.

This is a "probably". The reset button trips because the photocell fails to see a flame in the combustion chamber. That's its job.
Check the ignition device ( transformer, coil). See if 110v going in. If there is no spark coming out, replace it.

I have reddy pro 170 i plug it in , the fan & igniter comes on for 10 to 15 seconds then shuts off ,blew through fuel line and nozzle still same result, i do see fuel mist coming out nozzle ,i dont k

You must make sure the mist is not to close to the igniter . If it is it wont be misty enough to ignite. And make sure its in the path of the mist. If its new return it to the store.

I have a reddy heater 100000 btu model r100a. Everytime I plug it up I have to push the reset button. It comes on only for about 30sec. Then the reset will trip back off and it shut down. What could be...

Does the heater light up before it cuts off. If it does, then you need to first clean the flame sensor. It is a photo type sensor. Remove the top from the heater and the flame sensor is a black rubber boot close to the burner. You can clean it with a soft cloth or a cotton swab and some alcohol. If the heat isn't lighting up before the reset trips, with the top off, start the heater and check the igniter. If it is OK look for fuel spraying from the fuel nozzle. Watch out for the fan while the top is off and the heater is on. If fuel isn't spraying out, check the nozzle for clogs and check the fuel filter. I have reddy htr 35 was running great, just stopped reset breaker lit right up then went out Pulled cover off fan and spark fine reset it lights right up can see the fuel atomizing flame starts...

Check your fuel lines and most models have a fuel filter in line. A few things come to mind one how old is the fuel? Check the screen in the nozzle assembly by removing nozzle it sits directly behind the nozzle, these corrode and affect fuel flow. While you have this tore down clean the fire-eye with windex and terry cloth rag, it may not be seeing the flame. Check the air filter at the back of the heater as well. These are common problems with these heaters.
