Question about GE GSH22JFR Side by Side Refrigerator
My fresh food area of the refrigerator is freezing my produce and I can't seem to make temperature adjustments to fix the problem.
You will need to perform a refrigerator self diagnostic test found in the service manual found here=> GSS25WGMD Service Manual
Then go to page 48 of the service manual (Damper Door Not Opening or Not Closing) GE ARTICA PROFILE TECHNICAL INFORMATION This test will help you determine if the problem is the damper, temperature sensor or the control board. Doing these test are not for everyone and may require that you have someone that can perform diagnostics. If you have questions please let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Check the air damper at the back top left of the fresh foods section to see if the damper door has broken and thus not able to close. It is electrically operated, but if it breaks, you can have your exact condition occuer.

The unit is having a damper control issue. In the back of the refrigerator there is an assembly that is in the center at the top. It connects to the freezer side. The damper is broken, cracked or has an obstruction. Check this and see if it is the problem.

SOURCE: GE Monogram freezing food
I got the same problem.
Open the top hook overnight and you will see the temperature will return to normal i.e. 1 degree F
I suspect there is the thermostat or some type of thermal sensor that prevent the freezer to operate during summer time
Hope it help

this is likely one of the thermistors on the fresh food side has failed. They are usually located under a small cover inside the fridge. They should have a reading of 15.5k-16.5k ohms at 72 degrees. They are easy to check and replace. Here is a link that should help. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. http://appliancehelponline.com/sxsfreshthermistor.html
