Re DVDR pot tweak: 2 potentiometers on my Samsung DVD-R150 are labelled 'VR20High' & 'VR19Low', can anyone tell me 1 which is the DVD pot and 2 whether to turn the screw clockwise or anticlockwise?

if you have moved them needs an ohmn meter or osilloscope
they both a very narrow range so cant do much wrong by tweeking

i cant find anywhere to buy those two pentimeters in 2017

they could be dust effected
note where they are positioned
put both in the middle position and gently move them back and forth
then back to original position

Trying to copy a DVD--when I insert a blank DVD, it spits it out and asks me to insert another. I have tried with two different blank DVDs, and each time it spits it out without copying, and asks to...

1. your DVD blank may be rejected due to the program compatibility.
2. the DVD that is being copied was burn at a certain speed and this may have an affect on the
copy of the original.
3. the blank DVD should have the same capacity as the original or better that is if the
DVD blank has the capacity of 4.5 GB and the original is 8.5 GB then the copy has
reached it's capacity and will be ejected by the DVD burner.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.

My dvd player will not play normal dvd movies, everytime go to put a dvd in to play the machine spits it out, not sure if it is in record mode or not, any clues as to how I resolve this

The set is not accepting the data on initial scan and is rejecting.
Can be that the DVD process boarrd is faulty, Th optical head is faulty, the drive mechanism is faulty in not loading fully.
Try to load original types, if this works then a region settting must be done on some models to allow playing all types of modes
Need to check this out.

My macbook DVD player seems to not be working. I put in a DVD and after 3 attempts, it spits out the DVD without playing. I have been noticing more recently that it is doing it, and now nothing will play....

hi it could be a simple case of it needs cleaning, sometimes if you get a build up of dust inside where the laser runs along it builds up at the bottom stop, when the dvd is put in the laser hunts the dvd for the start which is in the smaller part of the dvd and works its way outwards as it reads, if there is a build up of dirt/dust or a foreign object stopping it from getting to the start of the dvd then it will reject the dvd, you could also get a lens cleaner just to see if that will do the job as well....hope this helps

MacBook pro 08 idvd will not burn to blank -R dvd

Go click on the apple logo at the top left of the screen. Then click on About this mac. Then click on More info. Then click on Disc Burning.

It will tell you what DVDs the optical drive will burn. If no info shows up, then you got a bad connection or need to clean the optical drive laser lens or your optical drive is about dead so you may have to buy a new optical drive.

The DVD player won't work; it spits the the DVD back out

If it is a burnt dvd, it might not play that format. If it isn't, I would take back the tv to where you got it from and get your miney back.

Won't read DVDs

Hi, Ive just repaired several liteon's ( incidently they are identical inside to some philips models ). In most cases the non writing or non reading problem is caused by dust on the laser glass. You have to open the unit then remove the dvd drive then remove its covers and just give a wipe of the laser with a clean non fluffy cloth. If theres lots of dust in other parts of the drive then this will need to be removed also as it could easily get onto the laser when in use. Even almost new liteons can suffer the problem , it only needs a little bit of dust to top the laser shining onto the dvd , instead the dust just reflects the light back. Hope this helps.
