Question about Lands Phones

Open Question

Phone line 2 won't disconnect?

I work for a small business. We just installed Point of Sale on our computer to make things easier, but before that we were running a credit card machine through our RCA dual line phone (MODEL #25212) on Line 2. Now we've run a second phone line into Line 2 since we're not using that line for a credit card machine anymore. For some reason, though, the phone line won't hang up... I can try to make a call out of that line but once I hang up with the cordless phone, the phone line itself doesn't disconnect the call. Is this a problem with the way the phone line was set up from when we had it as a credit card line? Can anyone help me figure this out?

SOURCE: No dial tone, just buzzing noise - should be 2 line phone, 1 jack

What you need is a dsl filter since you are working off a splitter. You can usually get these for free from your phone company.

DO you have a 2 line model? If so check and make sure the conf (conference) button is not pushed as it will keep the line off-hook forever. Hope this helps!

Voip phone system

There is literally no business that can survive without a fast means of communication. It follows that any type of business, whether it is a big scale or a small scale one, has a contact number. Today's technology has made possible several fast and cost-effective means of communication ranging from the e-mail up to the voice communication via the Internet.
Have you ever imagined your business that is out of reach? How will you hear from your clients? How will they give you updates? How will they tell you of their immediate concerns and how will you provide them with a response on the spot? Apart from the regular telephone system, you can further enhance business communication needs with the use of VoIP phone system.
What Matters in a Business
Regardless of the size of your business, it is necessary that you are able to come up with an uninterrupted voice communication. Every single business has a promise to the customers especially in line with providing the most efficient service. For your small business, using the proper VoIP compatible phone system proves to be excellent. It works compatibly with VoIP and hosts several other features that promote nothing but convenience.
A Corporate Image at a Pocket-Friendly Price
The reputation of a company matters a lot. This can thus be acquired by means of establishing a corporate image. With the acquisition of an efective phone system, your business will have a good image before the eyes of your clients. If the people know that you have a reliable service and fast communication solutions, the more that they will be prompted to invest and do business with you.
Other Concerns
Prior to having the VoIP, it is only necessary that you contact a reliable provider. You may make use of the Internet as your source. Be sure to download the software that comes from a reputable firm. You see, it is not difficult to install the VoIP phone into your workplace especially when there is already an existing Internet connection therein. You have to make yourself aware of the necessary equipment to employ plus the monthly charges that you should settle.
The Highlights of VoIP
Forget about the typical maintenance issues that come along with the regular telephone lines. With VoIP, you are able to enjoy more features all at a very affordable rate. The package includes the caller ID, call transfer, auto attendant, find me follow me call forwarding, voicemail, fax to email, and a lot others. Several calls can also be accommodated at the same time without prompting a busy tone that will only delay the communication. Routing is likewise very possible so the calls can be forwarded to the respective employees' own phone connections. Wherever the person is, the call can be directed to his mobile phone, home phone, or office phone. Thus, the location is not a problem because calling the individual is as easy as one, two, and three.
Since you are simply operating a small business, all that you must probably want to do is to save more on the telephone connection expenses. With the VoIP phone system, you save yourself from the hassles of paying for the extra fees when you do long distance calls. You get to enjoy the local rates even as you connect to a mobile phone or call another computer. Location is no longer a thing to worry about since everything has been made easier just for you!
Small business 4 line phones are generally workhorses and are easy to setup and use. I recommend them for many clients specifically because they are reliable regular phones. The benefits of these for small business are:
 • Inexpensive – you can buy them at most office supply stores, on line or used at Ebay
 • Ease of setup – basic plug & play. Plug it into the wall and it will work. If you need to get an adaptor it’s at Radio Shack, not special ordered. You don’t need a technician to install them if your office has been wired for the lines.
 • Works on regular dial tone – no need to have extra bandwidth or special adaptors
 • Ease of use – most importantly you don’t want to have to learn or teach someone how to answer the phone. You won’t have to call a technician to make changes to the programming.
I suggest not getting phones with voice mail built in. If the lines are busy your customer will not be able to leave a message. Combine a 4 line phone system in the office with a voice mail to email service outside the office and your customers will be able to reach you or leave a message.
When you are running your business you don’t want to worry about the phone. You want it to ring and have a clear conversation with your customer. If you have trouble hearing them or you get disconnected all the features won’t matter. If your office has only a few people and 2 to 8 phone lines a 4 line phone may be a great option.

My M7310 won't forward a call to the next open line but gives a busy signal

Hard to answer because your problem description does not match the part.
Nortel Meridian M7208 Corded Phone is a digital phone which works off a phone system. Also note that the carrier controls the rollover, not the phone or its system.

Once you have more/proper details maybe you can be helped.

Restaurant pro express; upgraded to new computer. Credit card processor won't work. call PC america and they want a boatload of cash to help. want to ditch this system soon, so don't want to pay....

You didn't say who the processor was. Many require a software program to interface with RPE that you need to install on new computer. Contact your processing company and they should point you in the right direction, if they want your business.

How to share data in Quickbook 2003pro

To use RDS to exchange information between Point of Sale and QuickBooks:

Print the RDS Guide to use as a reference while installing and configuring the RDS utilities. This guide includes screenshots of the process.
On the computer where QuickBooks and the QuickBooks data file resides, download the RDS Server Installer, saving it on your Windows desktop.
On the computer where Point of Sale is installed, download the RDS Client Installer, saving it on your Windows desktop.
Follow the instructions in the RDS Guide to install and configure the applications.

Good Morning! I work for a small business that has 5 of the GE 2-9451 4 line phones with intercom. We were actually running two businesses out of the same office originally. Line 1 would ring in to...

Hi,

Since you said line 3 was working for #2 company, i will suggest you put the line 3 back from where you removed it from. From the look of things the line might be the only line connected to be functioning. When ever you want to switch line since it is with intercom you will need to switch both side from where it is connected to where it is connected to, so that network connection can be achieved.

And on the other hand, the other line might not be working properly, that is why it was not connected or used.

Take care.

Is there a utility to repair a Quickbooks POS

I don't believe there is such a utility.

However, in looking for a POS solution, to your question, I was directed to this page (a special phone number for Intuit Data Recovery Services):
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/service/datarecovery.aspx

My research said that this article applies to POS just as it does to the regular product (even though this page does not specify that it relates to POS).

Pc says camera is busy

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

No lIne sound and make others extension phone busy sound when calling

to prove circuit is okay you need to swap phones

It probably is the phone extension line (from the wall)
to the phone.

Again you need to test phones using a known working phone cord. When you rule out the circuit and line cord then you can only point to the phone itself or the demarc point.
